On the night of 12/3/03 I received a phone call for my husband, I asked who they were and there reason for the call. The gentleman told me his name was Vincent Adams with Superior Benefits and he was calling to offer my husband a credit card offer.

My husband took the call then handed it back to me for Vincent to explain to me, this is what Vincent told me:

He stated my husband was guaranteed (not pre-approved) for a credit card with a credit limit of $2000.00. I asked him how he got our number he said, Experian and Equifax (I believe those were the names)were credit reporting companies and they were trying to help people re-establish their credit.

He stated that every 6 months if our payments were made on time we would have a increase of our credit limit by $500. We would also have automatically a cash advance limit of $500. He also stated that after 8 months of perfect payments my husbands credit would be restored to a A-1 standing. He also stated to take advantage of this offer we would have to pay a one time fee of $299.

Well I told him we did not have $299 and he said he could ship the credit card, FedEx to us in 5-6 business days, we could take the card, use our cash advance and put the money in our checking account because they would pull the money out with a ACH transaction.

My husband agreed to do this. Minutes after hanging up with this gentleman, I found this website with these reports against this company.

I called my bank this morning and put a stop payment out on this ACH transaction. I called Superior Benefits and told them to cancel this. The lady who answered the phone said she was a Supervisor and her name was LeAnn Shaw, ID # 230. She said the $299 was non-refundable. I told her about what I read on the internet and that I had contacted my bank and had stoped payment, and I also contacted the Better Business Bureua and I was going to call the Attorney General's Office in their area and report them.

After telling her this then she remembered that they just changed their policy and she could cancel this transaction but we would have to wait 3 days till they got the file and that I would have to call back. I told her to notate somewhere I called and wanted this cancelled.

I called my bank back this afternoon and someone had called to verify my account and routing numbers. I wonder who that could have been....hmmmmmm.

My bank assured me that they will not get this money and if they do try to pull out a different amount other than the $299 as long as I catch it within 24 hours they will reverse it.

We are the lucky ones, others have been scamed by this company, even if they pull funds, we will get them back the bank said. But from what I have read others have not been so lucky.

We learned a important lesson from this, yes we screwed our credit up and want to fix it but if it sounds to good to be true, then trust us it is!

If you have ok'd them to take money and no longer wish for them to pull it, contact your bank or financial institute immediatly and ask to fill out paperwork or do whatever you need to do to stop it!!

Also contact Superior Benefits and tell them you want it cancelled. Document who you spoke to, their ID numbers, last names, where they are at, what time you called. We documented everything from our first phone call with Vincent Adams from his ID number to time of call and exactly what we were promised.

From what I have read, you pay the $299 and get a bunch of junk mail on how to repair your credit but you get NO, I repeat NO credit card.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
