On 08-12-08, My company recieved a call from a representative that claimed to be calling from the company that sends our Toner for our Cannon Copier. My Customer Service staff believed that they were recieving a call from IKON (our service provider) and engaged in a conversation that included how they had made an error in billing. My staff was told that we hadn't been notified about the price increase on our toner cartridge and that they(Superior Office Products) would give us the old price on this order before raising the prices. Believing that we were speaking with IKON, we gave them the copier code and ordered the toner.

After recieving the invoice, we realized that we got scammed by an outside company trying to hard sell supplies to unsuspecting companies. We called IDCSERVCO, who claims they are their "Billing Company Only" which is complete BS. These people all know the details and Outs of their scam because we were quickly reminded about the "fine print" on the approval fax from Superior Cleaning Products. IDC told us that they would discount the toner from $439 to a mere $150(what a mark up!) if we wouldn't send it back. If we did send it back, we would be charged a $97.80 "restocking fee".

These two companies, Superior Office Products and IDCSERVPRO, are running a pretty shady scam on unsuspecting businesses. They carefully use double talk to avoid answering questions that would hold them liable legally, but clearly intend to mislead you into believing you're speaking with a company that you are already engaged in business with. This should be illegal, but is at the least extremely unprofessional and unethical.
