Supertutorsusa, BadAssTutors, GuaranteedAorBtutors, CARE Tutors supertutorsusa.com runs a scam business - failure to pay tutors & no background checks Las Vegas Nevada
I worked for supertutorsusa.com for 1 month, 23 hours, as a tutor. We agreed that I'd be paid $18.00 an hour + $5.00 for travel expenses.
I performed tutoring services for a client that had paid supertutorsusa $1500 for 50 hours total. I have signed timesheets and all the client information.
When the time came to turn in timesheets I was suddenly ignored by supertutors. The owner, Rob Gott aka Alex Leontiev stopped responding to my calls and my emails. I sent 10 emails asking if my timesheet was received and I called 5 times to leave messages.
I became suspicious and did some google searches on supertutors formerly badasstutors and I saw several other posts about how tutors are not paid. I then re-contacted Alex Leontiev and I could get no response.
I then began procedures for filing complaints. I filed with the Las Vegas Better Business bureau, the FBI Internet Fraud form, Consumer advocacy groups, and even its Wiki site.
I received several nasty/juvenile emails from the person calling themselves, Alex Leontiev, and I have them all.
I then discovered that this company has changed names a couple times, typical practice for a shady business, and I started compiling all the data I could find. My mission is to protect the public from this "company".
Here are a couple of emails I received from Alex:
--------------------
I am not worried about the FBI or the LVPD because we are not a scam. We are, however, struggling like many businesses. You can contact everyone you would like because I have nothing to hide. You are overreacting a bit but by now I have seen just about everything.
But, by doing all this now, you have indeed earned a zero paycheck.

(about being paid)
It's too late, you did the wrong the thing already. See the terms page. You accuse me of being a scam and then you try to cause damage with a customer, you are out of your mind if you think you deserve pay.

He likes to get upset at customers, clients and tutors and wonders why they quit because of his poor attitude and treatment towards people, he needs to get another line of business because his bipolar disorder causes this. They doesn't pay his tutors or his representatives.

ATG does pay people okay plain and simple. Once again, ATG would not put his business in danger.

Alexander Leontiev / Rob Gott Scammed me out of money owed

This is a rebuttal to the SupertutorsUSA owner that commented on my complaint.
badasstutors, supertutorsusa, careofamerica.org are all the same company that's changed names many times.
As a tutor, hired by supertutorsusa, the month of my work ended, I faxed my signed and dated timesheet (client signed) into supertutors. I then emailed Alexander AKA Rob whoever this guy is and I asked if my timesheet was received - and I got no response. I then emailed again and waited a couple of days. I then sent 5 emails and again no response.
I became suspicious because up until then I would get emails returned almost consistently. I then called the Supertutors employee number, no one answered, and I left a message. No response.
I then called again and left a message. No response, I was very suspicious then.
I finally, called the number where students can purchase hours, and I knew he would answer then. He did answer, I said, "hey, I'm one of your tutors," and I gave my name. I said, "I need to know if you received my timesheet?" He said, "Yes I think I saw it in there." I said, "ok, so when will I be paid?" He said checks go out by the 5th of every month and you should get it by the 10th.
I then googled the names, Alexander Leontiev, Robb Gott, (owner) Badasstutors, supertutorsusa, careofamerica and I added the word "scam" and several complaints came up about how they do NOT pay tutors...they just keep the money basically.
I knew then that I had been scammed. I then waited until the 10th and I still didn't get paid. I sent an email to Alexander Leontiev and he immediately got nasty. He sent several juvenile style emails and called me names and so forth. Here is when I knew that this guy was officially not going to pay me for work that I did.
He sent an email that said I was fired and that I would never be paid and he called me names.
I filed a report with the FBI Internet frauds division, they have an online form. I figure if this guy has done it to me, and many others, the complaints will start to catch the attention of the Federal Bureau. I'm sure there are dozens of people that he has screwd over based on what I've found on the Internet.
I filed a report with the Las Vegas Better Business Bureau. The company has changed names several times so it was hard to find them.
I filed a report with the Nevada Attorney General. Google: "Nevada Attorney General"
They have a downloadable PDF you have to send in. If you have been scammed by this company, please follow up as I did.
I filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission online.

I don't know how many people have been scammed by this guy or guys, but lets make sure it has been investigated.
I thank you for your time, dear reader.
1. Contact the Better Business Bureau of Las Vegas.
http://www.vegasbbb.org and report them. You may have to search for badasstutors not supertutors, they changed their name. Big red flag.
2. Gather all email addresses of tutors that "signed" up with supertutors and email these people and let them know.
3. Contact the FBI and fill out their online form. If enough people complain the FBI will take him down.

4. Contact the Federal Trade Commision
5. Contact consumer advocacy groups

Tom, internet terrorist, SuperTutorsUSA.com latest victim
#7REBUTTAL Owner of company
Mon, May 11, 2009
Beware of Tom Newcomb.
As a tutor for us, he was a qualified tutor. As an employee or independent contractor, he is an internet terrorist. He is very knowledgeable about websites and search engine optimization, and he is keen on victimizing companies for which he has disdain. His latest victim is a non profit organization, SuperTutorsUSA.com, which he believes is a scam.
Tom has been making false claims to numerous website watchdog groups, including the FBI division for internet fraud. Tom is currently under investigation by the FBI and merchant protection groups for internet terrorism. If you are a victim of Tom for this or any related offense, please contact your local authorities.
Tom claims we did not pay him for services rendered, but Tom forgot one minor important step in the pay process. He did not submit a time card. Tom made attempts to reach us, according to him, but the office was moving during a short window and the phones were not working for one weekend. I regret the inconvenience to Tom and anyone else who tried to reach us, but it does not mean we are a scam.
Tom was recently contacted to ask him to resubmit his time card but he refused. He is also refusing payment because, in his own words...
"Unfortunately for you, you screwd over the wrong guy... I'm fighting back big time. And think, it could cost you your whole scam business and all you owed me was like $230 or something.
Catching a criminal and justice is much more satisfying than $230. Thanks! keep it!"
Tom accuses us of not running background checks but that is not accurate. We hold our tutors in high regard, have some of the best tutors in the nation, and background check our level 3 and 4 tutors. We also only send female tutors to children as a double level of protection. Tom, in this case, was an exception. We sent a male tutor. He did a good job and we are proud of him. We recruited and placed him and the customer is very happy. His response and behavior since then has been a complete surprise, unpredictable, and unprofessional.
To our valued customers, do not worry, we have removed him from our service.
Thank you,
Alexander
