During Sept, 2002, I placed an order with Supra Telecom that was to make them my long distance company. On my next bill,I was not billed for the service or for any long distance calls. I contacted them to find out what was going on. They indicated that indeed, I was not yet their long distance customer....they were running behind, but they would take care of it shortly. "Shortly" passed and I still was receiving long distance bills from AT&T. I called again and was told that the orders were not being filled due to the law suit, and that was why I was not yet their long distance customer.

On my statement for billing period ending February 25,2003, I was suddenly charged for the LD service charge for a total of 4 months. This was a relatively small amount...only $13.37. On this same bill, Supra also charged me in advance for long distance service for the next month, a new higher price of $4.95+ per month. Along with the statement, came a notification that all service orders placed between 9/9/02 and 11/30/02 will be filled within the next 15 business days. So my order hadn't yet been processed according to this notificaation.

The customer service contact indicated that I would have to prove to them that I had been paying AT&T for long distance service during this time before they would correct my bill. After asking to speak to a supervisor, and a short wait on hold, I was told that the supervisor "was in a hurry and would have to call me back later". Anna, the "only"supervisor, did not call back at the time she indicated and I have heard nothing yet.

SO THE POINT IS, how many other customers had similar charges slipped onto their bill, which were not caught by those customers! Lets see...$13.37 times a few hundred...a few thousand....It could add up to a great deal of money that was being "accidently charged to people" who had not yet received the ordered service.

IF YOU ARE A SUPRA TELECOM CUSTOMER, WATCH YOUR BILLING VERY CAREFULLY! You might be accidently overcharged as well.
