To anyone who is thinking about using this company Surepoint Lending, please read this first!

I went through Lending Tree.com to refinance for a lower interest rate. Received a phone call from Brian Wilson at Surepoint Lending who stated that he could offer the best rate. In the beginning he did.
However, going through the process the rate changed after I requested my Good Faith Estimate which he said that he couldn't send by e-mail. It took 2 weeks to receive in the mail. He ended up sending it by e-mail anyway.

The rate had already changed from the 6.375% stated in the beginning. Now it was at 6.875%. I questioned that. He said that it was not correct.

Had an appraisal done for $300 with Mark from Statewide Appraisal.

I requested a copy after the appraisal was done from Brian Wilson he said that I will get it over to you never received it.

They said that we had to get another appraisal done which came out $16,500 higher.

They wanted to charge for the 2nd appraisal in the closing but, would not use the 2nd appraisal in the paperwork. They went with the first appraisal which they would benefit them in the long run.

Closing was set up on 1/7/2008 and I had spoken with Brian Wilson and had asked if he could call me when he sent the e-mail regarding the settlement statement around 11:30pm. He never called.

The closer was scheduled to come at 3pm. I so happened to go and check my e-mail at 2:45pm to fine that the settlement statement was there.

The closer had came and I explained to her that the settlement statement with the numbers was wrong and we would not be closing due to the fact that nothing was what we had discussed and even more you are charging me for a appraisal that was not even being used. His fee's alone totaled over $6000.

I told brian that we will just go with Countrywide and he stated that they would offer one interest rate and would change it at closing.

Well that is exactly what he did.

And to find out that they sell their loans to Countrywide.(cut out the middleman)
I have e-mailed him regarding a copy of my appraisal and he refuse to send it! Still trying to get a copy.
I also received a phone call from Tedd his supervisor who wanted to know if I would pay for the 2nd appraisal. Why should I, it was not use it in the loan.

He said that Brian was out of $325 and guess what I was out of $300 for nothing.

I would advise no one to use this company. It is nothing but a scam and ripoff.

We are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. SurePoint Lending prides itself on excellent customer service. We recieve over 100,000 applications a year, adn as you can see, the number of complaints is very low in comparison. Again, we apologize your experience was not the same.
Brian Wilson left the copmpany shortly after your loan. Due to confidentialilty, we cant go into details on your situation, but the terms of the loan can change throughout the process due to qualifications, or trying to meet a customer's requests.
