I recieved my Verizon telephone bill, to my suprise there was a charge of $41.15 on it from SURFSAFE ANNUAL FEE. I don't have any idea of how this was billed to me.

I am an internet user and I went on the internet and typed in this name SURFSAFE and found it is a scam or something. I don't understand how companies get away with this. I can't afford such things.

Thank you so much for your time or effort to investigate this matter.

The telephone lets a lot of frauds come right into your house and start helping themselves to your money.

This sounds like modem dialer con to me. Somehow, the crooks get your phone number off your computer and then they start billing you for this.

You will need to call up your phone company and dispute this charge. Naturally, they will just sit there and argue with you over it.

This is what's known as third-party billing. The surfsafe thing is allowed by law to bill your phone. Of course, they are supposed to wait until you actually agree to buy. But, nobody does that.

I'll give you some places to report this fraudulent company. File the complaints and let these agencies know.

Here's the best thing you could possibly do.

Disconnect the d**n phone. Turn it off. Cancel the service. Tell the phone company that you are just sick and tired of the d**n scams and the crooked telemarketers.

That's what I do. The last time I actually had a phone was back when you still had to rent the equipment. That was in the stone age.

My life is so peaceful. There's nobody calling and bothering me. Absolutely no telemarketing calls in the middle of dinner. No phone bills to worry about. No scams calling. No surveys.

If people want to talk to me, they come over.

The choice is yours. This same thing will happen again. Count on it. So, you can either keep fighting with the phone, or just rip the d**n thing out of the wall and be done with the nonsense.

That's the only way to win at this game.
