I went into Survival Insurance on January 26th,2005. My agent that I was given was George Andraos. I explained to him what kind of insurance I wanted. He came up with a policy that included full coverage for myself and liability for my 16year son. The monthly cost$84.00 a month. I agreed to the amount. He then told me that I needed to make a payment of $589.75 to have the policy for this price, but the payment can be paid in two payments. Again I ageed. I paid $200.00 that day. I was given until the 24th. of February to make the last payment of $389.75 Survival.

I waited for my paperwork to come in the mail. I only received a paper stating what kind of insurance that I had, and it was incorrect. It simply stated that I have only liability for both drivers. I went down to Survival on February 21,2005 to pay the balance. I told George that I did not receive my proper paperwork.,and that my insurance is wrong; I should have full coverage, and my son liability. George say's,"no no thats not what I signed you up for". I said,"yes you did". We continued for a few more minutes, then he said "I'll check on it for you".I left the office. I waited a week or two and did not hear from George or received my paperwork.

On March 12th. I received a letter from Venture Mutual stating that my insurance is in cacellation status. I immediately called George. He tells me the office is closed, call me first thing Monday morning, I'll fix it. I then called Venture Mutual. There Offices were closed.I called Monday morning, March 14th., and spoke with Brittany with Venture. She informed me that I needed to write a letter stating that I never received my contract and coupon book to start my payments.

You're going to call it statement of loss. She also said to enclosed the payment of $85.35. I questioned the amount. Brittany said ,"thats what your contract says". Okay fine I said it's only a $1.35 difference. I'll see when I get my contract, and I will have George fix it. I wrote the letter and mailed off the payment.

On March 18th. I was involved in a car accident. The other driver is at total fault. I called Georeg aking for help. He once again say's "We're closed, but you need to called claims , and I think it might be closed". Okay here we go. I called an atuomatted system and reported my accident.Monday morning I get a phone call from a Michael Gonzales, saying he's my agent. I explained my entire case to him. The only thing that he said to me,you're not insured.I explain to him what happened with the paperwork. He then opens my eyes and tell me , you're dealing with three different companies.Survival, the finance company, and Hudson your insurer. Oh I said well, who do I contact.

He gave me a several numbers to call.I was given the run around with all three companies. No one is taking blame. Hudson dropped the policy, afer they found out about the accident. They reinstated me for one day and claimed that they were investigating to see if they would represent in the case against State Farm Insurance. I waited for a reply. Days passed. In the meantime I'm fighting my own case against State Farm. I called back and finally spoked with the actual insurance company, Hudson. He said, oh we decided to dropped your insurance policy. Okay fine ,but I want a refund. No he says, service rendered. I continue to call George, and asked for help. He dodged my phone calls and fax. I call Venture and asked for my money. They gave me the run around.Venture blames Hudson, and told me to seek my money from them.I called Hudson back ,requesting my money. They bounced me back for the refund to George.

All I want is my $675.10 back.I did not receive any type of representation from any of the providers, during my case. I represented myself. All three companies have the nerve to tell me that I'm not getting my money back,no representation, and to top it off no insurance. I have called the supervisors over at Survival that manange the agents. They were all rude and unprofessional. I then called Venture and Hudson, and received the same treatment.

Like I mentioned earlier all I want is my money back. I hope your agency can help me.I hope to hear from you soon.I would like this nightmare to end. Please inform me who I need to contact as far as suing for my refund. I am not going to let this go. These insurance companies need to be stopped.

I live in Florida and put in an online request for a quote- I had previously been with Drive Insurance through Progressive & was paying through the nose for 6 months at a time. So I switched to Hudson and all I got was rude service and poor communication of policy information. THEY SUCK!

You're entitled more than a refund...

It seems you have become a victim of insurance bad faith. Your case might be worth 10-100 times your refund.

Contact the State Bar attorney referral hotline or call me for free consultation. (323)782-0099.

Patricia,
Contact the California Department of Insurance at 800-927-HELP (4357). They also have a web site, http://www.insurance.ca.gov that you should check out. It has a great Consumer section.

George Andraos's license # is 0C40484. Survival's license# is 0B44840. It looks like they mave had had some kind of action filed against them before.

Be more careful when you pick your next insurance agency. As a rule, don't buy from an agency who runs cheesy ads on TV or who's phone book ad is the biggest and boasts "instant SR-22s" and "cheapest rates." (Unless you need an SR-22).
