Susi Felahy - stores.ebay.com/billet-pros Knowingly fraudulent eBayer seller? Internet
On June the 18th, I purchased a Kool Flex Stainless Steel Radiator Hose kit from billet-pros on eBay. On the seller's eBay page, the hose kits are advertised as having polished aluminum ends.
When I received the kits, I discovered that the ends are chromed plastic and NOT aluminum. I immediately contacted the seller and told them. I also said that I was in Saudi Arabia and that it would be ridiculously expensive to return the kits and could they just send me four aluminum ends please.
Two days later the seller's reply was (sic) These kits did have aluminum ends when we started selling them 2 years ago. After I got your email I opened a bunch of our kits and they all have plastic ends. I called th Mfg and they stated they changed ends about 4 to 5 months ago. So the only thing I can tell you is to send them back and we will refund the payment.
My exact reply was: Hi Susi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I live and work in Saudi Arabia and because the local mail system is very unreliable, I purchased a shipping address in New York and the company I bought it from ship anything in it to me in Saudi. However, the company only ships TO Saudi Arabia so to send the kits back to you, I would need to use DHL or FEDEX etc and that would be extremely expensive. When you told me you have no aluminium ends I found some being sold separately on eBay and have purchased them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=8036798732&rd=1,1 They were being sold for $16 for a pair. I understand that this is a genuine mistake but as the items were labeled wrong on your eBay page, would it be unreasonable of me to ask you to reimburse me for the fittings I've just bought? I also left positive feedback for the other 14 items that I bought from the seller - $256 worth.
I did not receive a reply, nor did I receive replies to the next five emails, even though on the seller's eBay page, it says that they answer all emails. I sent one last email to billet-pros asking if she was getting my emails and I again explained about being in Saudi and how I'd managed to find other aluminum hose ends for $32 and could she send me a PayPal payment. I then added that I was disappointed that she appeared to be ignoring me, even though I'd left positive feedback for her and that if she didn't reply, she left me no option other than to file a complaint with eBay.
After several days without a reply from billet-pros I reported it to eBay as an Item Not As Described and even though eBay apparently forwarded the report to billet-pros, I still did not get a reply. There was nothing else I could until at least 10 days had expired. When 10 days was up, I clicked on the link that said words to the effect of closing the dispute and taking it further. When I closed the dispute, eBay contacted me with: Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the parts you received that were not as the listing described. I've reviewed our records and see that you closed the Item Not Received dispute that you filed for this transaction. eBay is in the process of investigating the seller. Once our investigation has been completed, we will take the appropriate action if the seller has violated eBay policy. They went on to add that I could file a mail fraud complaint or contact law enforcement. Obviously, from Saudi Arabia I would not be able to do either.
On Wednesday the 29th of August, I again emailed Suzi at billet-pros and told her that I'd like her to send me a PayPal payment for $32 and to have the courtesy of leave feedback as I had done for her and that if I hadn't heard from her in a day or two then I would be visiting a rip-off reporting site and post my experience of my dealings with billet-pros on there, then I will also post on the 2 automotive forums I am a member of, one of which currently has 64,007 members and the other has 164,424 members. I added that I would e-mail her the links to the pages once I've posted in the forums and on the rip-off site. It's now nearly 48 hours later and I have received no reply from Suzi at billet-pros.
This may all sound like me just venting, but before I emailed Suzi at billet-pros on Wednesday, I looked up her eBay store again and see that she's still advertising the kits as having aluminum ends, even though she told me that ALL the kits now have chromed plastic ends. I took a snapshot of her page so you can see for yourself, and in case there's any doubt about the authenticity, compare her feedback score in the picture, then see how many people have left feedback since the 16th of July, when I left my feedback
