Though the main office is located in Mississauga, I worked with the Hamilton branch and have horror stories for the ages I'm sure.

These guys are a complete insult to legitimate fund raising, and even more insulting to the legitimate and reputable firms they represent (In this case, SickKids Hospital in Toronto, and World Vision Child Sponsorship Programs)

From start to finish, this is an awful job, I'll try to be brief.

- COUNTLESS HOUR OF WASTED TIME by "Leaders", including watching movies on company time, using drugs on company time. Generally, abusing the privilege of working away from the office.

- NO PROPER TRAINING for the job, at all. Nothing even resembling training. I was taken for my "second interview" (Really, a loop hole that allows them to use unpaid training. Loophole is a word you will hear quite a bit with this company) by people younger, and far less educated than myself (I'm a university grad, looking like many in my position to make enough money to cover school costs) to a neighborhood 30 minutes form the office. I had to pay for gas during the trip, 5 dollars/person was the cost. We spent most of our time sitting on rocks and hearing about how much of a moron the man in charge really is.

- DISHONESTY IS RAMPANT within the company. There is a relationship and an environment of distrust between all levels of the company. Managers don't trust the employees, employees don't trust the managers, the directors (Big Wigs, for all intents and purposes) don't trust the managers or the employees, and vice versa. There is an obscene amount of gossip, trash talk, and rumor milling in the office and on canvassing routes (yeah, it's door to door) that acts as a catalyst and the problems never stop.

- DAMAGING REPUTATIONS is the name of the game for this company. The door to door sales people are told, specifically, to say whatever needs to be said in order to gather monthly donations for SickKids Hospital and to fabricate a local address, and lie about other things - including telling individuals you are a volunteer when you are in fact paid hourly with incentives - to encourage Child Sponsorship with World Vision. These are otherwise legitimate programs in my eyes, and to know that they use services provided by a company like Suxess - a company whose shamelessly dishonest tactics are only matched by its shamelessly dishonest managers and directors - is appalling, and needs to be stopped.

- LOOPHOLES are a major problem for employees of these companies. Loopholes mean you will be doing canvassing for SickKids Hospital only a few blocks from McMaster hospital - in an area where many of the McMaster staff have homes, which is a perfect example of lack of planning and lack of professionalism, not to mention against the contract between these two hospitals. Further, expect to not be paid for any of the holidays that 99.9% of employers pay their employees for, which is obviously incorrect. In fact, I printed out legislation and called my MP to discuss the issue, and in fact employees of Suxess ARE owed for ANY holiday for which other workers are paid, regardless of what "loophole" managers may cite - always without any evidence of course.

Don't waste your time, don't waste your money, don't waste your gas, don't waste your car, your knees, your voice, your breath, your ANYTHING with these people, because it will only end in dissatisfaction even in the best of cases.

I worked at the same time as 'Jimmy' did and definitely recall the day of the movie fiasco. Out of the 2 cars worth of people who decided to go to the movie, only myself and one other employee decided against seeing the film. Inside I was saying that this was completely defrauding the company of wages and integrity, but what I told the others was that I was broke and couldn't afford it. Originally it was only me who wanted to go to work but another ended up coming with me. I did a poor sowing that day and when we returned a leader chewed me out for having a poor performance in the field with a reasoning of not having a leader on turf with me.

How does this encourage me to keep good morals and actually work for these people?? I went out every day (with the exception of the last two days of work as I had lost the hope for this job) and worked my butt off and was given nothing but reprimands and talking tos. There was one week where my leader had scheduled vacation time and had given this notice to the manager well in advance however when I asked the manager at the end of that week when we were discussing my performance about not having a leader to give me pointers he didn't give me any solution nor another leader to take advice from. Imagine being new to a job and the person training you has taken legitimate and planned time away and the boss doesn't give you a replacement to help you make that transition. It made me feel like no one cared about my success nor the company's success. Additionally I did seek out a temporary leader who I asked for materials and questions, and remember distinctly them saying 'I'll be there in a moment' and never bothered to come back to my query or help even after I asked them about it 10 minutes later AND asked the boss about it at the same time and had no response.

I have managed operations where my superiors are a day's summons away and I only see them in 3 week intervals, and they were much more helpful than the manager I had right in front of me.

I completely back up 'Jimmy' in his arguments of lack of motivation, lack of legal holiday pay, and lack of organization.

As for the drug use, there was one day where a small amount was passed around, and that was a small part of the whole day. This day included going to a co-worker's house (known as 'Fred'), playing video games for a while, then we went to a pool hall and played pool and foosball, at which point my leader was telling 'Fred' that they tired of this and we still needed to actually work. I do commend my leader for putting their foot down and actually getting to work.

A lot of the employees felt that racism was a great source of humour, with one person in particular being the brunt of many of the jokes due to his dietary choices as a Muslim. He took it in stride every time a joke was made but I could see that it was stinging a little underneath, and I found it to be extremely insensitive to take such humour.

Oh yeah, the manager asked another co-worker if I was a l*****n because I 'looked like that way'.

One last thing I wanted to put in was the lack of consideration of safety for people driving in the cars. There were some people who were very bad drivers, and at one point I was in the middle seat of this car which had no seat belt, and we were driving up the highway at 140 kph. This scared the hell out of me for good reason, as I felt I was going to be the most damaged should we get in an accident. Many of the drivers we had would speed on a regular basis, run red lights, yell at other drivers, and overall incite more than their share of road rage. The music they played in their car was ridiculously loud and also conducive to a raging headache due to the double bass beats prevalent in it, and had no inclination to turn it down or change it. Why people pair loud, angry, fast music and speeding is a mystery to me.

I'm sure to some this is a dream job and I know there are a few honest people plugging away at this to make ends meet, but the majority of people who work here are crooked, corrupt, and without proper moral. Both 'Jimmy' and I can vouch for the upper manager telling us to tell people at the door that we were volunteers, that we had many more children to sponsor earlier that day, that we lived just around the corner, or that 'Mr. So and So' from down the street just signed up also. This same upper manager listened to the pitch I did for World Vision and 'was so impressed' with my pitch that he said he was going to sponsor one of the children I had assigned to me. He said this in front of the entire office and I will bet my next $100 that he hasn't sponsored any child I had in my hand, applicable to 22 July 09. To trick people into donating seems like one of the slimiest professions to succeed at and I feel bad for those who have been sucked into this.

This is not a place to go to if you want any idea of job security or reputation as being trustworthy or with moral. The people hired who are most successful in general are rude, juvenile, and corrupt.

So I just lost my job with Suxess. I was angry so I went online to see what has been written about this company. I came across this website. I was shocked to see what has been written mostly because it was obvious who wrote this stuff.

There was an investigation in response to this information posted. As a result I lost my job because I was in violation with the contract I signed ( I don't really read that stuff) because I was ratted out for smoking weed and watching a movie while being paid by a charity I was working for. I felt bad enough for that only to read this posting. I was there with "Jimmy" I think I can't say his real name. We smoked weed and went to watch transformers. I felt bad about that and felt like it was my fault that I was fired because I did something stupid. But I read this post and it made even more angry. You were there too! You went to watch a movie while we were being paid and you are writing all this crap blaming others. I mean do you want all this to be brought to light? We watched a movie and smoked weed while being paid by a charity! We stole money from ill children. I feel bad but you should feel worse for trying to hurt a company that seemed really to just want to make a difference. Call me I would love to talk to you in person.

Taking responsibility

#7Author of original report

Fri, July 17, 2009

Let's talk about what it means to "take responsibility for inaction".

As an office manager, it is his/her responsibility that those in "leadership" positions live up to their tags, something that was a far cry from reality at Suxess. As I mentioned earlier, the leaders are sub par and in case anybody is wondering, 99% of the time, the individuals with the vehicles (and the individuals who ultimately decide how long you do your job for) are the leaders.

Of course, these abuses of company time would be very difficult if the managers took "responsibility" for the individuals they have invested so much time and money in, making sure that they are setting the example desired. This, obviously, doesn't happen and from what I was able to tell the person/people in charge of offices generally do something besides "manage" during the day...the specifics of which I am not sure about, not that it matters. Perhaps spending a little bit of time making sure individuals are on their assigned turf, and going door to door would go a long way.

We could go deeper into the "inaction" within Suxess by its leaders, managers and directors, talking about the lack of Canada Day pay/explanation, the lack of paid training, etc etc etc. The list goes on.

Taking responsibility is a two way street, and anyone with any sort of professional standard will tell you this. It's not surprising that the defenses of the people who choose to side with Suxess are sub par, because the people who associate themselves with a company that forgets what "responsibility" and "accountability" means are sub par as well.

Take Responsibility for Your Own Inaction

#7UPDATE Employee

Thu, July 16, 2009

I wish employees would report their dis-satisfaction with the managers during their time of employment not after. Like most people, this individual has a worker's mentality of going with the flow. The disgruntled employee should have reported to the manager that they were not getting the training they needed before it was too late. It's unfortunate when leaders fail to lead, yet when you know the people training you were wasting time and using drugs and said nothing, you're either in on it or just simply didn't care enough about your job. If I were your manager, I would not trust you either. "unhappy and unemployed", you should take partial responsibility for your own inaction which led to your state of unemployment.

Re: Bad Apples

Re: Bad Apples

The wise man probably knew how to spell words like "losers" (loosers) and "renowned" (renouned). Your credibility is low at best, and any intelligent person with a little bit of common sense (another word spelled incorrectly, ironic really) will agree with me on without a second thought.

It is no surprise then, that an individual with the lack of intelligence you have so generously put on display fails to see the issue with any of the points brought up in the original report. Instead choosing to remain "employeed" (I know, its getting to be a bit sad isn't it)

Let's consider a few things, first and foremost, shall we?

The stories you tell people at the door, are lies. It's plain and simple really, no two ways about this one. You are, in essence, lying to people while representing a charity like the SickKids foundation, using your dishonest tactics to gain support for a monthly giving program that the donors now understand to be something different than what it is in reality. For example, all canvassers are issued a pitch card, printed by the hospital, bearing their logo, trademarks, etc. The card states that somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 kids had to visit the hospital last year (The exact number escapes me). However, you are instructed by your superiors to go to the door and claim that the hospital saw 300,000 patients, the majority of whom had serious illnesses! It's a far cry from the truth, and any person with a "shred of intelligence" would realize that SickKids would likely have questions for TNI/Suxess about their tactics and dishonesty, in fact, I challenge someone from TNI or a TNI subsidiary to contact SickKids, or World Vision or a charity of your choice, and tell them about the tactics you use at doors. So shamelessly lying about your own status as paid worker, so shamelessly lying about your own address to tug on those emotional strings just a little more, and most shamelessly defending these tactics as legitimate in any sense of the word. Further, how is it that SickKids offers an hourly rate to people who spend time being counterproductive while on the clock? If you really wanted to help these kids - though you probably don't - you'd quit your job, or at least earn the money that the hospital allots by promoting the program for a full day. This way, the kids get more of what they need, and less of the money goes to funding afternoons in the park, the mall, or the movies. I think the term is "selling out", sacrificing your own morals and undercutting the morals of society in the name of the almighty dollar. You enjoy that, I'm probably going to go another direction though.

We could go even further with the tricky practices, however, and say that maybe it wouldn't be in the SickKids itinerary to knock on doors until 9 PM on a slow day for donations - I mean, seeing as its against the law to do so is likely enough of a discouraging factor...right? Wrong. "Extra mile" text messages from your superiors are fairly common too, because lets face it, if you don't enroll donors, the boss doesn't get his new suit. As you (new readers, not brain washed employees) may have discerned already, it is a pyramid scheme. Yes, like the kind you see on TV, yes like the kind you try to avoid, and yes, like the kind that places you at the bottom and sees the big wigs suck the dollars out of your success day after day after

Let's move on to holiday pay. Unfortunately, your lack of education has left you relegated as a "perminate" employee, and with the long hours and obscene amount of time you likely spend chanting and ringing bells in the "Impact Room", how could I expect you to know anything about the money you are entitled to in the country you live in? Silly, I know. Let me verse you in this area, please visit http://ogov.newswire.ca/ontario/GPOE/2003/06/11/c1780.html?lmatch=⟨=_e.html - let me know what you think, and exactly how much Suxess owes you for the many holidays you have likely been employed for without compensation of any kind. It's probably a small fortune by now. In case you are wondering, I did bring this up to management (says so in my original report as well) and was met with a non-satisfactory answer, and a non-existent effort to find one. I'm still in touch with my MP and other authorities in an attempt to gain not only my own holiday pay, but also have all the people who work with TNI paid as well. Its only fair, after all.

I have dragged this company through the mud, and with good reason. I will continue to dispute any positive comments posted on this website regarding Suxess and the issues people take with my report, because the company is dishonest, and worse they are knowingly dishonest, and that makes them deceitful. They purposely mislead the public and teach their people the fine art of delusive, deceptive and evasive language in order to hook people into a charity they only know based on the lies fed to them in their own home. Shameful. Shameful indeed.

What are we going for today? Your soul, that's what; and its unfortunate that they seem to have yours on a fishing line. Terrible really, I'm sure McDonald's could probably use a few more "perminate" employees, especially of the illiterate and uninformed variety.

Take care.

Bad Apples!?!

#7UPDATE Employee

Wed, July 15, 2009

A wise man once said " Winners make it happen and loosers make excuses". I am writing this rebuttal because i am an active employee of Suxess Consulting Firm and was beside myself when i read this defication of a good company. I have worked for suxxes since Febuary 09 in the mississauga locataion and have been trained by some of the best teachers that I have ever come across.

Its unfortunate that someone had a bad experience in one of there many locations, and has choosen to drag the whole company in the mud. The clients that they represent are world renouned and do not do business with little mama and papa shops. They promote team work and integrity and have gone the extra mile to help there people out. I had a really rough patch over the holidays and found myself looking for work and was on the brink of being kicked out of my apartment. One of the managers(after a week of working there) gave me money to pay my rent and get back on my feet. Is this the horrible and dishonest company that there talking about????

"DAMAGING REPUTATIONS is the name of the game for this company"...Are you kidding me!!! Sitting on rocks on company time and getting paid for it and this moron is complaining. Seems like they like to be lazy and get paid for nothing..There are many factors to getting paid for "holidays"..like you have to be a full time perminate employee and have to work the day before and after..not just get hired on friday and wanting a free ride on monday. This fool wants to talk about trust...if there was bad apples that were doing the company wrong, the integral thing to do was to bring it to the management team to fix the problem....but misery loves company. It looks to me that this person was not successful on the campaign and is looking for excuses on why they sucked!!!

There are a lot of great people in this organization and it is unfortunate that one BAD APPLE wants to make up lies and claims, because they couldnt follow a simple system on how to educate the public about a worth while cause. The statement that someone was younger and less educated that them shows me that they have a chip on there shoulder and will carry this with them for the rest of there life.

Is it all peaches..probobly not...but we have always had examples of people ditching school, hanging out, drinking, smoking and laughing at the people who are working hard or studying because they have goals. These people change the world.....the others spray paint the walls with bullshit and hate the world like this idiot!!!

Suxess has done so much for me(which is why im so passionate about them)and others in the office, so i get mad to read s**t like this on the net...

Someone with common sence or a shred of intelligence would figure that an organization like sick kids and world vision only work with the best companies...but there are always bad apples in the world...

You can be part of the problem or be part of the solution..the choice is yours. I have come from a place of integrity and am proud to say that my team mates think the same. Suxess is a great team to be a part of and I'm proud of the good work we do for your clients and the people that our clients help.

You could be part of the problem or part of a solution...if your reading this...what catagory would you be under? They say it all...unhappy and unemployed..is that how you would like to be remembered..this person does!!

Happy, Proud and Employeed
