I've received a Certificate of Award as a $400. consolation prize from Sweepstakes Clearing House. It lists the cost of products prior to applying the $400. dollar voucher. The remaining cost of the product is actually what the products are worth on the market. The computers are "not new", they are remanufactured. You can buy a brand new Compaq Presario computer at Wal-Mart for $498. Their price of the remanufactured computer is $699.95. The desktop computer is the same situation. The digital camera is 2 pixels. No one buys a new digital camera with only 2 pixel capability, so these must be old cameras that were left unsold in the warehouse. The watches are gold "plated" and the diamonds are chips, not worth $100. dollars, let alone $469.95. All the products have a warranty, that was conveniently not included. They want you to mail a request for it, which of course couldn't be received by the void date of the voucher, which in my case is March 16th. If this is a consolation prize for a $10,000,000. giveaway, who won the $10,000,000. drawing? It's a shame people believe these promotions, but it's their money, and they convince themselves they're getting a deal.

Operating System and 1,500 Hours of Earthlink

The standard operating system today is Microsoft Windows XP. If they were providing the standard they would probably state that in their offer. Chances are you will receive an older version. If you are even interested in a "remanufactured" PC, you would be foolish to accept an older version, so ask them what version they are providing before buying.

The on-line with Earthlink offers 1,500 hours FREE on-line access within two months of signing on the first time. If you were using the service 24 hours a day for two months, you couldn't get more than the 1,441 hours that two months gives you. If both months have 31 days, which doesn't exist, you would receive 1,488 hours, if you don't fall asleep using it.
