Vendor provides custom designed cookies for use as favors for parties, meetings, etc.

I contracted with the vendor to provide 65 cookie favors in her art deco design, to match the midnight blue & silver decor of a surprise 80th birthday party for my father. Her invoice specified these color/design details, including blue & silver ribbons for the packaging.

Of the 65 cookies she delivered, 18 were in royal (not midnight) blue and/or silver icing. The remaining cookies were in a variety of colors (including black, very inappropriate for an 80th birthday party!) and designs, including several that were geometric and not the deco designs on her website at the time I placed my order. She also used a variety of colored ribbons, not what she specified on her own invoice.

Upon revisiting the website to find a phone number/email address to contact her to complain, I noticed vendor changed her entire art deco line to include the colors/designs she shipped me. What had begun as a highly customized order turned into the delivery of her standard line of cookies, with no regard to the specific color/design I originally ordered.

We had no choice but to use some of the wrongly colored/designed cookies for favors, as we could not hand favors to some and not all of our guests. The remainders are sitting at my parents' house and vendor insists they be returned before she will refund. Given that my parents are out of the country for the next month, this cannot happen anytime soon, if at all.

Vendor admits to having taken artistic license with my order, saying she attempted to give me an "array" of favors when I specifically ordered one kind and in one color scheme. She accepts no responsibility for changing my order without my authorization.

I don't care about a refund, I do care about her ability to admit error, which she refuses to do.

If you are considering this company for your cookie favors, you might want to look elsewhere because even the most specific of orders (like mine) appear to be ignored in favor of her simply delivering what she has on hand. Unacceptable business behavior from someone who is in the business of party-related products, where attention to details like colors and themes all matter very much!
