This is the biggest scam of a company i ever had to deal with. I purchased for hunting and recreational use: a rifle scope from SWFA.COM which by itself is $300. then some accessories with it making the price just under another $100. $400 total...

Well after tightening the screws mounting it to my rifle to start shooting paper and firing my first few shots to "zero" the rifle in (making it hit where i want it to on paper, everytime). i noticed that that process was exceedingly difficult on this particular scope (scope make/model is SWFA SS10X42 MIL-MIL) and it was hitting all over the paper target, never dead center - after near ONE HOUR (process normally takes 5 minutes) of this aggravation i retightened everything on the rifle and noticed i hear a slight sound as if something was broken inside said scope. i know i didn't do it, it must of have through shipping i assumed. So i proceeded to attempt to zero, after i gave up and the paper target showed i was close - which was a mediocre 6" grouping at 100 meters i gave it to a gunsmith friend of mine to try, he had no luck and laughed at the product i wasted my money on. he attempted to zero the scope as well a bit tighter than I however he attempting engaging paper targets at 600, 800, and 1000 meters. I was already so aggravated by the scopes crummy performance at this point im surprised the paper was even hit at 600 meters 2 our of the 10 shots in total that were taken. All with the exact same factory loaded ammunition.

Which is completely missed the target after several attempts at adjustment on the 800 and 1000 meter target. It was noticable that the scopes "tracking" was completely wrong, or not working all together.

After the above issue, i notified the company SWFA and insisted i just return the scope, said to them i don't need it, it doesnt work, tracking issues were severe on the product i recieved. There were marks on it when i recieved it in the mail shipped to me initially that weren't too big of a deal but made the scope appeared slightly used in the first place (odd, since i bought a new scope???) and the lady on the phone said no problem just send it to us.

Apparently she lied, they recieved it a short while later and emailed me stating they are returning the scope back to me, there are no issues with the scope, and there are marks on it where it mounts to a rifle.....Um?

Through Several days now of e-mailing back and forth, it is clear this company is blaming me for their faults and refusing to give my money back. AND ARE NOW telling me there return policy wont cover it, sending me links to it and such, EVEN AFTER i was physically spoken to and told otherwise on the phone. On their facebook page i was informed i appeared "FISHY"... are you serious?  Now this scam of a company stealing my money from me for scrap i have in hand is stating i could possible be trying to scam them? Im done.

The worst thing they could do is send me the broken scope back again so i could make videos all over youtube of the scam of a comapny this is and show off the faults with their product and my endeavors through customer service. I welcome any legal service that could put this company down, my hard earned money would have been better thrown into a fire than given to these theives called SWFA OUTDOORS.

Mr. Pigeon,

The facts of your return according to our records are as follows:

You purchased the scope September 28, 2014 and on November 6, 2014 you called for a return authorization. The only reason you gave her for wanting to return the items on your order was that you no longer needed the items. We gave you a RMA number of 21582 and explained to you that you needed to write the RMA number on the back of your invoice in the space provided and below that you needed to fill in the blanks as to what you wanted us to do for you.

We didn’t receive your return until January 6, 2015. Two months after you were given the RMA number. The mount was not returned.

On the back of your invoice the only thing you provided was the RMA number. You didn’t tell us what you wanted us to do for you. You didn’t mention anything about the scope appearing to be “used or damaged slightly through shipping”. You didn’t tell us that you had mounted the scope. You didn’t provide us with any information about the scope not tracking properly.

Once we informed you we couldn’t accept the scope back because it now had ring marks on it was the first time we learned about any of these issues.

Our technicians checked out the scope and found no issues at all. It tracked at all distances, including 600, 800, and 1000 meters. They also could not see any damages that might have been caused through shipping. The only damages found on the scope were your ring marks.

Since we have a reputation for having the best customer service in the industry, it will still not be a problem for us to accept back the items you have returned. However, since you paid with a non-reloadable gift card we can only give you store credit. Also you will be charged a 15% restocking fee for the now used scope and the factory box you destroyed by using it for a shipping box. The total of the items you returned come to $335.85. 15% of that comes to $50.38, so your store credit will come to $285.47.
