Yes you are responsible for the remainder of the contract. Part of my job at the academy was reviewing and filling out the contracts with the students. Whether you were fired, quit, layed-off, or for whatever reason, if you did not complete 13 months, you owe what is left on the contract. I have heard alot of students claim they were going to get lawyers and so on, but for what it is worth, you got a cdl and the price of the academy is cheaper than most schools. Fighting the contract will cost you alot more than just paying it off. Swift has lawyers on staff and the resources to collect. Good luck in your endeavors.

Read over your contract. Does it say that if you leave Swift that they can have you pay for the balance of your tuition due?? If you are gone you left. Doesn't really matter if they fired you or not. Check online and see if they have their contract available there.
Why did they fire you?? Did you think them firing you would result in free training??
