After four years with swift, when I became disabled under workmans comp they threw me to the wolves .....

I got blood clots in my lung that came from my legs. The doctors say this happens when a person sits for long periods of time and does not take walks.

The blood builds in the legs and clots then travels to the lungs eventually to the heart and death occurs. This is common with truck drivers; but swift refuses to help me under the workman comp rules in the state of california.

They have a insurance carrier that takes 90 days just to consider payment under the rules for workmans comp. they hope I die or Just find a minimum wage job, because they are trying to starve me out.

I have a great church I attend and they are helping us out or we would starve As Jerry flies in a leased Helocopter from ontario airport to the race track. This Guy is a Big Phoney

I am surprised that after reading the extent of complaints against Swift Transportation,Inc., that there are no complaints filed with the Better Businss Bureau. When one pulls up this company, they have an A- rating and zero complaints filed.

Yes you should get an atterney right away. I have worked for Swift 4 years now and currently I am drawing a workers comp from them and have been for almost 2 years. My case involves a injured knee and I have had no problems getting my benifits. Your case is one that could be from swift or from some other event and you really need an attorney to represent you. Once Swift accepts responsibility you should be ok but GET an ATTORNEY .

Please don't try to fight this one alone. Immediately consult a Workers Compensation attorney if you have not already done so.

Additionally, contact the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH). You will find them listed in the government pages of your telephone directory. They will be especially helpful if your work comp claim is denied by Swift's carrier.

You can also directly contact the Workers Commpensation Appeals Board on your own, but an attorney is much more effective and in the state of California, the MAXIMUM a WC attorney can get is 15% of a permanent disability settlement. They can also get you needed medical care.
