Hello, I worked for Swift as head of Safety for ten years and I no longer work for that company. As a formal Safety Director I would like to apologize to all Swift drivers who were wrongfully Terminated, Lied to, and had Wrongfull information on DAC. I've seen many terrible things happen to good working drivers, while Im here in the inside watching all these things take place. For us, it's just following orders. Several of myfriends, who were drivers, went thru the same fate. That's when I realized I cannot continue working for a company that deceives its' drivers. Drivers were terminated for no reason and had false information on DAC reports. I've delt with it for a long time but finally my morals and conscience got to me after seeing my friends leave. Thats when I chose to leave this shady company. I am going to lay it all out for you.  These are the things I did while working here.

Lies:

Swift and every driver manager will lie straight to your face if your there face to face or on the qualcom. All they care about is theire quotas aswell as the planners. They will tell you you wont get a service failure and as soon as the load gets there you get hit with one. Mentors, they say once your student becomes solo status your good, congratulations but little do you know within a six month period if anything happens to that student accident, etc it will reflect back on you and be on your dac report. Not fair all lies being put on your report

Dac:

Whether your a company driver or o/o if your thinking of leaving the company they will think of something negative to put on you dac report just to make your life miserable. Example your an o/o and you decide to turn in your truck they will some time say equipment abandoment or breach of contract or company policy           Note: Too get away from this you must have at least 2 or more policy manuals which ill get too later..

Policy handbook or Manual:

As i mentioned earlier to get away from this you must have at least 2 or more manuals cause swift is always revising the manuals. So if you were an o/o and turned in your truck and the manual and or contract says you can do so with out any penalties than by all means do it but make sure you keep a copy of your original manual and contract cause they'll always changing them without notice and try to make you follow the new policy and contract, with this in mind you have someway to cover yourself. Another thing is urine drop, it use to be that you have 10 hrs to report but now it seems that you only get 8 hrs to report well if your manual states 10 than report within that time they cannot say you didnt report ontime cause in actuality you did. They cannot terminate you for showing up late  all though they will try, just hold on to your manual and remember to C.Y.A. cause they will try to put failure to take a drug screen or positive on a drug screen.

Swift has a very bad reputation and high turn around rate, but do they care no. Swift has too many new students, and drivers coming in that they really dont care. Note: If your an o/o and your almost done paying your truck off they will take your truck away from you or possibly terminate you just so they can turn around and re-lease the truck again for another 3 to 4 yrs and make more money.

My suggestion for all you new drivers coming in on board do your due-deligence. Research a company, find the good and the bad, see what other people are saying about a company before coming in. It will give you a better understanding and view of how the company operates. I dont recommend swift to anyone, its a very bad company to work for and they will leave you out to dry.

I hope i shared some light on you new drivers out there, and for you drivers that are still with swift keep in mind of what theyre doing and keep your manuals, and contracts it could help you keep your job but always C.Y.A cause they care more about themselves and not you..

I dont believe most of what you say. I work on the inside. There are no quotas. We have not lost a safety director. Most employees that reach safety director level can spell.

It is good to see someone with a conscience tell it like it is, I have never driven for Swift but I have heard all of the stories. The best part is they are the same exact stories with most of these big companies. Swift has over 200 complaints on here about them yet the keep getting people in their trucks. I guess wanting to be a big rigger shorts out the brain.

Thanks again for being honest, this nation needs more people like you, God Bless.
