I recently applied to swift. I have been away training for almost 2 months. This includes obtaining my permit and license. Last step is/was to drive 200 hours with a mentor. Today is Thursday as I write this. On Monday I took a drug screen. Today I receive a call from a Dr. in Arizona telling me I tested positive for marijuana. He asked me if I felt this was an error on the labs part. I was speechless at the time because I am nearly 40 years of age and have worked for prestigious companies like Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Aflac and I dispatched for 911 fire and ambulance and have NEVER failed a drug screen!

I called Safety to speak with a person whom tells me that I now have to pay 150 to send another bottle or speak with a Substance Abuse Specialist. This just left me beside myself. I explained that I have never tested positive and there has to be a mistake but I have some red flags about what occurred. This person could care less and I could hear she was not feeling well because her nose was stuffy and she was sniffling a lot. I spoke to the recruiter who tells me to pay the 150 and "clear my name!" Even more insulting as to say I am convicted of that exam and the only way to solve it is to pay the 150. However every other time I have taken drug screens by the way I had to take one less than 30 days ago which is required to even get this far it was conducted in front of me and the results provided right away which were negative. For Swift however they bag it and send it to a lab. So putting 2 and 2 together when the Dr asked me if I felt there may have been an error with the lab it raised some flags for me. I asked if I could go to the lab to retest which I was told No. The ONLY way is to pay the150 or basically seem as if I tested positive and walk away from Swift. I have never had a drug screen take 4 days and furthermore never had it mailed or shipped or transported for me. The fact that the company is only willing to take my money is wrong!

I am not refusing to submit to a drug screening but I did research while I have to wait for morning to resolve this and have learned that sloppiness during the test may result in a positive. I also learned this has happened to other good citizens like myself and that sometimes the machines may be contaminated if not properly cleaned. So for Swift to refuse me a new test where I can be at the lab with the technician is very suspicious and waves yet another red flag! Praying that someone from HR sees this and rectifies the issue at hand! Otherwise the public can be aware this may be a fraud issue and hope this does not happen to anyone else!
