If you are planning on going to the swift driving academy DON'T save yourself alot of hassles and money first the recruiters will LIE and say whatever they need to to get you in "they get paid bonus for meeting certain numbers" keep that in mind your just a number to this company. mine was LUCY HERRERA overly nice on the phone(that should be a red flag) but when you finish the academy won't return any of your calls.

next lie she told me was "you'll be making over 41000 a year your first year that breaks down to about 850.00 a week pretty good change you wont others i have talked to have had runs of only 1600 a week and at .26 per mile and after deductions its less then 200 dollars a week. I went out with my mentor he was great about the only person that seemed to give a s**t after my 6 weeks with him SONIA PANTOJA said if i go out with my mentor for 10 more days i will get preference on getting my truck that is another LIE.

when your with the mentor they pay you a nominal daily pay but not enough to survive after waiting 15 days to get my truck my interim driver manager KEVIN SANDERS gives me a truck i go out to my truck and IT DIDNT START (BIG RED FLAG) it was dirty inside pretty much a peice of crap with a ton of miles on it ripped upholstery etc i would be embarraded to give a truck of the condition to anyone. when i walked back to tell him he yelled over his shoulder "go to the shop deal with it"......deal with it????

I left. luckily i found a job with a small local company driving an end dump but the thousands of dollars in income lost because of this company has ruined my credit (many late payments) almost devastated us financially they really dont care about you the driver as long as freight get to where its going they will get paid find a community college or a better driving school but do your research well PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM SWIFT I'd bet if you researched other former student im not alone in this senerio BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM SWIFT

Really... did you expect to be making serious bank right away? You really need to do your homework and research the company you plan on working for. First off... the recruiters do lie, that's just kinda the way it is (most will tell you that either do lie or they "stretch" or "exaggerate slightly" the truth).

Once you can get over that fact and do your own research you can make an informed decision if they're right for you. I did the research, attended a swift-approved outside school in washington last year and have been with swift ever since. And yes, the pay does suck at first, just like with any other company. But if you're patient and attempt to better yourself and your career you WILL make better money. You get pay raises at 3, 4, 6 and 9 months, and then every year on your hiring anniversary. Hell, I'm now making anywhere between 700 and 1000 bucks a week, depending on how much time off I want to get. So if that's not good enough pay for an entry level job with minimal training, I don't know what to tell you.

Also, keep in mind that you don't have to stay with swift any longer than you want to. I've been here just over a year and now I have the experience I need to get an even better paying local job back home that doesn't require me to be away from my family 2-4 weeks at a time. Oh, and just to reiterate, STOP WHINING!!! If you believe everything other people say, then I have a nice bridge I'd like to sell you...

Hey Tim ever heard of the word "Research"?

I have an email in my inbox right now that will confirm what he said. Although I don't think they told me 41k it was more like 36k or around there. But they did say $800/week. As a matter of fact, I have 2 recruiters that were trying to get me to sign on with their "School". Promising the same stuff. Boy am I glad that I researched this company. I actually went to their school for a couple of days and had to leave to clear up an issue with a license in another state and I was getting ready to return to school/class TOMORROW!! I am in no way going now!! I can't believe all of the trash on this company. I can't find one nice thing anyone can say -- Except you TIM and what your saying is inaccurate. They DO promise all kinds of great pay and I can't even find anyone that says that the company may suck but the pay is good!!! THANK YOU RIPOFF REPORT!!!! And all of you that write in to share, I think I was about to make a very big mistake and because of all of you I didn't. Thanks!!!!

Get Real

#9UPDATE EX-employee responds

Get real... you were told that you could make UP to 41g IF you stayed there for a time. NO ONE with half a brain would expect a company to pay a newbe 40g +. they have put several thousand $$$ into you.

I am an instructor at a school whom Swift comes to to recruit students and I listen./monitor thuier statements. + I am a ex-employee of Swift and have heard thier recriiters on many occasions. GET A LIFE and LISTEN to what is said NOT what you want to hear.
Swift ids better off with out you....
