Swift Van Lines LLC Very unprofessional way of doing business Rockville Maryland
Be aware of Swift Van Lines LLC in Rockville MD but any moving companies in general for the following: This company (and I assumed others) quated us for price amount of time the work will take. They arrived 3 hours late (first sign they are a ripoff company) which basically leave no choice but to use them when they arrive, especially if you have a tight schedule. Then, they want you to sign paperwork that does not have a final amount charge for the move(second sign they are ripoff). They basically want you to sign them a blank check that you will not be able to get out of later, I will explain why later. When the paperwork is signed, then they start wrapping furniture and moving things out. Now, this is probably the only thing I can give them credit for, they do a good job. However, usually only one person is qualify to do the wrapping (probably the supervisor) so they take their time wrapping and moving things out. Remember the papers you sign earlier (the blank check) that also has a line that includes Hours Worked which has nothing to do with the inital quote. Unless you agree to a specific quote upfront they will take their time to charge you many hours (Third sign they are a rippoff) Once everything gets loaded and transported to the final destination, THE RIPPOFF takes place then. They want you to pay them for all their charges and hours worked before they offload your staff otherwise they will not move (fourth sign the company is a ripoff) You can cry, scream, be pregnant, get your grandfather to talk to them; they will not move unless you pay them what they are asking for. If you press them too much, they will make up many more charges like for them to take the tape trash used to wrap my furniture, lifting heavy staff etc. (Fifth sig the company is a ripoff) Last, the damages incur, they tell you to send them the pictures and that they themselves will fix the broken furniture. Now they might be experts at moving furniture but no way at fixing broken furniture (Six sign of a ripoff company) In conlcusion, this company I hired quoted for a price that included hours worked and amount of time; in the end, they charged me more then double what I was initially quoted. Therefore, my advised to your, agree to terms and conditions and specially a price upfront to avoid any of these problems. Good luck to you all
