DO NOT SIGN-UP FOR SWIPE AUCTIONS FRAUD & SCAMS

I made a terrible mistake and clicked on a Facebook ad for SwipeAuctions. The site is FULL of clutter and for a reason, they hide the fact that you will be charged $159 for signing up then $12 a month for some sort of bonus bid thing which again is hidden in mounds of clutter as you click through the site.

To ensure you have no idea that you are charged these regular fees are not shown in your account activity report online with SwipeAuctions, you have to check your credit card statement.

Lets talk about trying to get away from them #1 you cant find anything on their site in regards to cancelling your account. You have to try and use their online chat feature to get help. When I called my credit card company to have the charges refunded they said there was nothing they could do but they did provide me SwipeAuctions customer service number (1-866-389-3870).

I contacted customer service and they assured me they wanted everyone to be happy with their service so they were kind enough to send me the FIVE page form to fill out and SNAIL MAIL back to their office. They claim they need original signatures to refund the money although they have no problems charging you with nothing more than the credit card number. To try and ensure they are sending the correct person the money even though they could just directly refund your credit card just like any other business in the world could do. Once you have your FIVE PAGE form filled out and provide a photocopy of a government issued piece of ID THEN you need to mail the form so that YOU CAN follow up with them in FOUR weeks to ensure the refund goes through. If you fail to follow up then they will not issue the refund (nice hey..).

Overall I have little to no hope of ever seeing my money again, I just hope not to lose anymore.

The best thing to do is to cancel your credit card and have a new one issued.  IF SOMEHOW you manage to get them to credit you back they can still use the old number to send the refund, they just can't make anymore charges.  DO NOT tell them you cancelled the old card.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT SIGN-UP, IF YOU HAVE AND YOU ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE REST OF US PLEASE LET PEOPLE KNOW.

Update

Ok, I have to eat a little crow here.. just a few minutes after my last update which really annoys me.  Anyhow, the email from SwipeAuctions was filtered into my Spam folder which I decided to check in the off-chance that they did actually reply.  I am still not expecting to see any sort of refund so I will continue to post on this topic to help inform people as to what to expect.  If you see nothing here stating a refund came in then it didn't.

Please note the message states a concern about cancelling the wrong account.  I really need to figure out how in the heck all these other online companies manage to figure these things out without a photocopy of my driver's licence or other government issued ID.

Good Afternoon Shawn,

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. The refund policy has been set in place by management, the steps we take are to ensure we are cancelling the correct account.

As well when a refund is processed it is placed back onto the card used at the time of registration. I have sent off a refund request to our merchant and am awaiting a response. I have also gone ahead and cancelled your account.

Should you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Jennifer Head of Customer Service

Swipeauctions/Swipebid scam fraud ripoff

Hi Jennifer,

I actually came across your email address while searching out information regarding swipeauctions and had sent you an email the same day I posted this warning.  I have yet to see anything back from Swipeauctions in my personal email, ironic that something should get posted here first...

I realize this is just an attempt to save face online so I my expectations of this going anywhere are non-existant.  My main goal right now is to warn others about the tactics deployed by Swipeactions/SwipeBids and any other rebranding of the same sites.

My cancellation notice # is 18236. If you actually come through and provide a full refund to my credit card I will gladly note that online here, and everywhere else, I posted warnings about swipeauctions.
