Swiss Airlines ripoff dishonest loyalty program New York New York
My wife and I were traveling with Swiss from Moscow to Chicago on 09/01/05. At check-in we tried to get our United Airlines frequent flyer numbers input into the system for miles collection but the employee at the check-in refused to do so. She also refused to take our applications for Swiss TravelClub. What irritates me still more is that even though I contacted Swiss' customer service via there online customer relationship management system twice (two and one month ago), I still haven't received any answer.

If they are indeed a partner with United (UA) then send the boarding passes into UA. Just because it should be done electronicaly doesn't mean they don't process them by hand. Sometimes someone forgets to put their number in. They still get credit.
As far as not taking an application, I'm not sure how Swiss' system works. It could require mailing it in. Also I thought I remembered hearing a while back that they were getting rid of the program. (Not sure on that part though)
One other note, it's better to keep miles with one airline as long as they are partners. This way you have maximum miles to redeem in one account since you can't transfer between them. It might also allow you to gain an "elite" status with an airline.
