I followered all procedures as specified in Symantec's Rebate program for Norton Antivirus rebate of $20.00. I not only made copies of all materials but checked each step to ensure I was fulfilling requirements.

I mailed the rebate request on 7/28/04 to Symantec's El Pasco, Texas address as specified.

On 10/14/04 the deception started when I called their 866 number and was told by a Helen that I would have to resubmit copies to their Resubmission Dept in Miami, i.e. Symantec Rebate Program, Resubmission Dept., P.O. Box 028516, Miami, FL 33102-8516.

On 11/24/04, after having no word, I called the 866-206-8800 number again, and was told I would receive rebate by Christmas. Of course, Christmas came and went with no rebate.

On 12/28/04 received post card, not honoring rebate, stating: "Missing Proof of Purchase or Original UPC". Not only did I send Miami a copy of all requirements, but also included a cover letter stating why I was resubmitting.

On 1/5/2005 emailed Symantec Customer Relations via Symantec's on-line site receiving no reply.

On 1/7/05 emailed Staples (office supplies} via their web site's customer services. Since I originally purchased Norton from them I felt, in the interest of customer relations, they would be supportive. Guess what, no reply!

Question to ponder: If Symantec (Norton Antivirus) is so deceptive with their rebate programs; how deceptive might their Norton Anti-virus be in protecting your PC?
