WANT MY REBATE! I bought TurboTax Software and all the software pkgs. that were advertised with it to get the rebates. I bought Norton AntiVirus 2005 which had a $30.00 rebate. Sent in the UPC Code which was cut from the box and stapled to a copy of the store receipt which contained the rebate form.

Symantec has send me a postcard stating they cannot honor my request ($30.00 Rebate) due to Missing Proof of Purchase. It was not missing as it was stapled to the receipt/form which had my name and address on it.

I phoned Symantec in Miami, Fl. this a.m and talked with "Lyle" who put the blame in this matter squarely on me. I KNOW I stapled the UPC from the box of Norton Anti Virus Software to the rebate form. He proceeded to tell me that they had nothing on me -- how did they know to send me a denial post card??

They got the info. from the rebate form. He proceed to tell me that I had bought an upgrade version -WRONG. I purchased the full Ver. Norton Anti Virus 5000. He told me that I had to send in the UPC Code and flap from the box that had some identifying info. on it. There is absolutely nothing on the flap.

He further stated I had to copy the CD, a copy of my credit card statement where I downloaded my last purchase online, and send that in with a copy of my cash register receipt. He is WRONG again ... I purchased the full Ver. 5000 and have the box and unopened CD.

I will have my $30.00 Rebate if it takes the 3-yr. Statute of Limitations to fight it out. Wonder what the FTC will think about all this?
