In fall 2015, we began receiving weekly calls from Performance Portfolio Management attempting to collect an outstanding 2013 debt from Synergy Fitness (1781 Second Avenue) totalling $573.84. Convinced that we had, in fact, paid this debt with Synergy before moving out of New York, we attempted to obtain information from Suzanne Park at Synergy only to be told that they had no further information on the account.

In reviewing our bank records from 2013, we were unable to determine whether the debt had been paid given that there were no amounts or accounts that matched.

Beleaguered weekly with calls from Performance Portfolio Management threatening our credit, we decided it was easier to pay the amount than risk hurting our credit.

After paying down the amount in the full, we wisened up and asked for confirmation of payment in case we were approached, again, in a year or two. It took nearly three months of weekly calls to Performance Portfolio Management to secure an email confirmation of payment. Each time I called, speaking primarily with Kathy Wonder, we were promised that we would receive not only an email but a written confirmation of payment. Again, this went on for nearly three months.

We are not only filing complaints directly with Synergy Fitness, Performance Portfolio Management, RipOff Report and Better Business Bureau, we encourage anyone who receives a debt complaint related to Synergy to fully research their financial records and to file a claim.
