 A call was received on Friday 4/24 from a Unknown Caller ID number, a gentleman who claimed to be "Tom Jones". I believed this to first be a survey from the tone of his voice and his Midwestern American accent. He read my companies name and our full address to me over the phone. Then, he simply asked my name and what type of Printer was nearest to me. I provided the information without questioning his motive. He then proceeded to tell me he was our supplies provider. He did not indicate he was going to send supplies, and he did not solicit the sale of supplies. Instead, "Tom Jones" informed me his "Manager" would be in touch with me in a short amount of time which no one ever called. I shrugged this off as a failed Social Engineering attempt.

Today, an invoice was received in our company mail addressed to Account Payable and myself. It is for the amount of $1220.96 for two boxes of Toner for the printer which was in question. Realizing this is a scam, I quickly dialed the 800-number provided only to get a Voice Mail saying Customer Service is not available due to high call volume. I left a message indicating our companies name and stated we did not order anything and would be rejecting the shipment and the billing. I have not received a call from this phony company. It was a cold-call and Social Engineering scheme. Buyer beware! Do not answer questions without first asking the Name of the company, the phone number, and the reason for the call. Do not answer questions regarding your name nor confirm your company location.
