Complaint Review: Systools Software

Systools Software Despite refund policy, company will not answer emails or refund on a product that did not work as promised. Dallas, Internet

I had a corrupted word document. I downloaded the Systool Word Recovery demo, and it revealed the first two paragraphs. Great, right? Well I thought so. I paid $45 dollars to download the full version and that was all I got, two paragraphs out of 8 pages. So, I researched their refund policy, and it clearly stated that this situation would warrant a complete refund.  The company was, at this point however, not interested in helping me nor was it in refunding my money. I went to paypal to refute the charge after several failed attempts to contact them asking for a refund. During our paypal correspondance, the refund manager Neil Adcock promised to refund my money if they were not successful in recovering the corruped file, so could I please send it in to them for one more try. I sent it in, and never heard back. Unfortunately, Paypal did not refund my money, as it considered the software "intangible." I found this surprising, as the Systool correspondance clearly inferred fault. Still without paypal's backing, I hoped Neil would honour his promise, but again no response to emails. Clearly a fantastic way to keep people's money, as paypal is (sadly) unwilling to help.
