In March of 2006 I purchased 2 T-Mobile Motorola RAZR V3 cellular telephones that included a $50 per phone rebate. The rebate submissions for both phones were submitted on the SAME day, at the SAME post office, at the SAME time, in envelopes that were addressed to the SAME company at the SAME address...!!!

A few weeks later, I received an email notifying me that one of the rebates had been entered into their system for payment. At that time I inquired as to the status of the other submission. I was told to be patient...that the other submission would likely show up soon and be entered into their system.

After waiting another 4 weeks I sent another email inquiring once again about my missing rebate submission. I received a reply that it had still not arrived and there was no record of it in their system.

Being a prudent person, I had copied my entire submission packet, including the original bar-code on the box, before I mailed it, thinking that if it got lost that I would be able to submit the copies as proof that I was eligible for the rebate.

I replied to the email stating that I had copies and asked for instructions for submitting the copies and receiving the rebate. I then received a response stating that they could only accept the ORIGINAL bar-code from the box, which of course was sent with the original submission for the rebate. Nice Catch-22...!!!

I responded once more stating that the copy of the bar-code should be as good as the original, especially since I had my original proof of purchase and the additional information I originally submitted. But NO, this is not good enough...so I am now out $50.

This is purely and simply a RIPOFF...!!! I for one will not purchase anything further from T-Mobile or its affiliates and recommend that you steer clear of this in my opinion clearly fraudulent and unethical company and its rebate scams. It seems pretty clear to me at this point that if they did not receive my rebate submission for whatever reason that the postal service would have returned it to me long ago. Since that is not the case I must assume that this company enters some rebate submissions and "loses" the rest...quite a lucrative scam in my estimation.

Yes, T-Mobile...you have my $50...but you will lose much more than that as I will tell everyone I know...and even some I don't...about your rebate scam...!!!

Michael,

Who knows what happened. Maybe it got lost, maybe it was never received by Young America. But to blame T-Mobile in your case would be to blame T-Mobile if your Moto razr v3 went bad even though T-Mobile didn't make it, Motorola did. Young America is simply a company that has an agreement to send you a check after they recieve your submission.

This is my suggestion, call Young America again. They will take your photo copy of the Bar codes. If you want me to get involved, I'd love to help you. I'm new at this website and not sure how you can contact me.

I wish you the best.
