Complaint Review: Customer Service Group Inc. Survey Division

I received a letter in the mail with a check for $2,495 and I called 411 to get the phone number of the bank that the check is drawn off ofin Iowa City, Iowa called State Street Bank and Trust. The operator told me that there is no such bank by that name anywhere in the state of Iowa. The letter said that I can keep $200 for me I have to spend $50 at Walmart and $50 at jc penneys and then I am to do a money transfer to money gram for the remaining amount.

When I notified the company on the letter as to the fact that the bank that the check is drawn on doesn't exsist, the man got very frustrated and began to stammer his words. I then told him that I would be turning this in to the proper authorities and he hung up on me.
