Tan Your Hide Refuses to cancel contract even though I had to move out of state Colorado Springs Colorado

I signed a contract with Tan Your Hide. I understood the terms of the contract and had every intention of fulfilling my contract. However, my husband was laid off from his job and we were forced to move out of state. How can there be no way to cancel a contract? I will pay cancellation fees. I realize I am breach of the contract, but they absolutely will not allow any cancellations under any circumstances, not even if I die. I have never hear of this. I have read multiple reviews from people with similar circumstances. I wish Tan Your Hide was where I live, but they aren't. They just dismiss your request out of hand. How much money have they robbed from the customers. This is the worst way to do business. STAY AWAY from any contracts with Tan Your Hide, because if you die, they will keep charging your account. Nasty customer service, no suggestions to work this out. So now I set 50 dollars a month on fire. I can prove that I have moved. This place is a joke. I would seriously like to know how much money they have made from this underhanded, unprofessional business practice. I will continue to send out negative reviews and warn people to stay away.

When you sign a contract it should not be taken lightly. Everything is clearly explained and stated  in this contract. There are no cancellations. Any time that someone come sto us with a story like this we do offer ways to get out of it.

They can get someone to take the mebership over.

The $50.00 she paid was far less than the hundreds that would have been due if we held her to the contract. The $50.00 cancellation fee is normally just for sldiers that PCS, but we did make an exception for her.

This member knew and admitted in her complaint, that she did know, that she was signing a contract for 10 months and  that it could not be cancelled. We offered other solutions to try to help her out.

1. One was to find a friend or family member or anyone that would be willing to take over the membership.

2. If the membership was paid in full we could give her the same amount in tanning lotions so that she could take them with her and not lose out on what she is paying for.

Normally members wait until the last minute to tell us they are leaving, so we can not offer the solution of simply upgrading the current membership to the highest level, which would also include some sunless, and red light therapy. That would solve the issue of losing out on any money spent.

We have been around for 33 years and cancel our military members with pcs orders all the time. We simply can not cancel every contract request that comes through or we would not be in business. How ever we try very hard to solve the problem any way we can. If the solutions are turned down, then there is nothng more we can do.

Our customer service people are very polite and professional and try to resolve any situation they can.

We can say without any shadow of a doubt that we do not ever practice any "underhanded" business practices. She said she knew what she was signing, and there are over 40 memberships, packages and minutes that she could have bought, but chose the contract.

We are still more than willing to allow a take over on this membership as long as it stays current.

This member knew that she signed a contract. It was very clear in the paperwork both on the membership form stating for 10 months, and on the auto paymnet form which states 10 months. It is also VERY clearly stated on all forms that this contract can not be cancelled. She does admit she understood the terms of the contract.

We offered a solution: Find someone to take over the payments and then you are fully released from the membership.

We also offered her to pay off the balance in full, and we woudl give her that amount in retail tanning lotions that she can use where ever she moves to.

She was told on 10/3/14 that she could not cancel and she stated that she was going to have a friend take over the membership.

The comment on "nasty customer service" was unwarranted. She was treated with respect, and explained clearly what the terms were.

If every contract were cancelled for gyms, tanning salons, and anywhere else that has memberships, due to moves, they would go out of business.
