Tan your hide has different tanning contracts that one can pick from. One month, 6 months, 18 months or a gold club membership. It is usually cheaper to choose a longer term contract. When doing a contract, there is a monthly installment taken out of your checking or savings account.

Do NOT be fooled!!! The company will still take money out of your account even after your contract term is well ended, and if you want to speak with the owner of the business she sends her incompetent managers to do their dirty work.

The company does not keep contracts on site, and when asked to see your contract, the managers reply to speak to the owner (corporate) when they return from their vacation in 3 weeks. In the mean time still stealing money out of your checking or savings account.

I am reporting Tan Your Hide to the BBB and FTC as well as the Attorney General of Colorado! I went in to tan when I first got back from iraq and the girl told me it's cheaper to get a membership, and that I could cancel at any time, as I was getting out of the army and moving back to Florida in a few months- Well, my entire contract was messed up and didn't even have any correct address or informatino on it in the first place, but regardless, I found out I was pregnant a month later and went in to cancel my contract and the nasty girl at the counter told me it's safe to tan while pregnant and that they wont let me out, well keep in mind this is the same nasty girl (I wish I could swear on here) that told me I could cancel at any time! I was so shocked that she told me I could tan while pregnant!!!!!!!!!! My DOCTOR specifically said NOT to tan!!!!!!! I brought in a signed note by the military doctors saying I could nto tan and she STILL wouldn't let me out of my contract! Like you, everytime I asked for the owner they said she wasn't available or they would flat out hang up on me! So they kept withdrawing from my account for 7 more months and then when I got out of the army I closed out the account and opened a new one since I had moved back to Florida, well they sent over the total sum of 305$ for 5 remaining months to collections of some NCO financial company who has persisted to call me foul names, insult me and harass me. I have told them repeatidly that just because I have a 719 area code does not mean I still live there, but they dont care. The collection agency sent me a copy of the contract that doesnt have correct info on it and hand written mised payments. I disputed this with experian and I'm waiting for it to get removed. I hope tan your hide gets shut down and all the employees of that company are forever unemployed. Oh, and I hope the owner gets Melanoma from tanning to much! B****

I feel your pain. I changed banks and had to update my checking account number with Tan Your Hide, and asked the girl at the counter when I needed to do this by so I don't get a NSF from my old acct. She said I had until the 20th at which time I came in and updated. Soon after I received a NSF notice from my old bank from them. and then another. I talked to one of the managers who said they tried to process the check 4x. (even after I closed that account and updated with another). As a result they wanted me to pay $120 in fees (including a late fee). I tried several times to contact the owners and the store managers even sent messages in the computer where "Wendy" was supposed to call me back.
Several attempts were made by me to contact the owners. I was even willing to split the fees with them.. they ended up sending to a collector.

response to "Vanessa" Tan Your Hide

#6REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sat, February 07, 2004

In response to "Vanessa" who filed the claim with Tan Your HIde. We do not take payments out of people's account past their expiration date unless they renew. As a matter of fact we order the exact amount of drafts needed to ensure monthyly paymnets for the term of your membership that you sign up for. Which ever memb. you sign up for you will have an enrollment fee, which is stated on the contract, and then the equal amount of pmts. following in accordance with the memb you buy. So 6 months, down pmt plus 6 monthly pmts, 12 mo, down pmt plus 12 monthly pmts. etc.You may have thought that the final payment was invalid because you have an enrollment written on your contract that doesn't count towards one of your monthly pmts.

any time that any issue is brought to a Manager's attention they will explain this to you in detail, as they do when you join. All of Tan Your Hide's Managers have been with the company for a min. of 2-3 yrs. and most for 5-6 years. They all know and can handle company policy quite well.

When you go to Macdonalds is the "owner" present? When you go to many business' is the "Owner" present? Tan Your Hide like many business' is a corporation, and the Managers are the front line in the stores. We also have a city Mgr. and office help, so it is highly unlikely that you received no attention or explanation in this matter. F.Y.I...the "Owners" take 1 week vacation per year on a good year.

We pride ourselves in customer service and quality and have over 40,000 satisfied tanners, and members. You might try again, and see how well we do treat our members!
