Complaint Review: Tanner Transmission

I have a 1997 GMC Sierra Z71 that was having some transmission problems which were basically hard shifting that I wanted looked at. I called Tanner because they supposedly are tranny specialists. I was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced because 1997 Sierras have commom tranny problems. I was told that I had caught the problem early enough so that it would only be 1400 bucks.

Three days later I called and was told it would be 2100 bucks including tax. I paid it believing that I would have a primo transmission and I did complain at that time about the higher cost but to no avail. I drove the truck for about a week and a half and had to return it to Tanner due to slippage. Three days later I picked the truck up again.

Less than a week later the truck would hardly move because the tranny wouldn't shift or anything. My wife and I both complained and after a heated discussion they agreed to tow it to their shop. I haven't seen my truck since and when I call I get nothing but excuses and have even been hung up on. I asked to speak to a manager/ supervisor and have been told they don't allow that!!

Tanner Transmission is a complete ripoff and my nightmare I'm afraid is probably not over.They have had the truck for over a week now and have not called me once! Do not do business with this company!
