Attention fellow consumers,

I can't believe my recent experience with Target.com, let me explain:

I order an Olevia 32" LCD TV plus a 2-year Extended warranty from Target.com on 11/10/2006, Friday after 6pm. Then on Sunday morning I came across another LCD TV for a cheaper price. So I called Target.com back to cancel the order and here is where the trouble began....

KEEP IN MIND that the warehouse/distribution center where the TV would ship from was closed all-day on Saturday and Sunday.

So I called Target.com and requested to cancel the order. The customer service representative (CSR) told me that the order was "too far" along in the shipping process to cancel. I explained to the CSR that there is no way that the TV could be in any shipping process because I placed the order after business hours on Friday and the distribution center was closed all day on Saturday and Sunday.

The CSR continued to say she was sorry and could not cancel the order. So like any persistent consumer I called back several times and got the same answer everytime. I called on Monday and the item still had not shipped. I called on Tuesday and the item still had not shipped. I called on Wednesday morning and the item still had not shipped, but yet I'm still being told that the item was "too far" along in the shipping process to stop.

Finally, on 11/15/2006 the item was assigned a tracking number with UPS. So with that, I called UPS to try and stop them from picking up the TV and bringing it to me, but I did not have the authority to cancel the pick-up because the order was still in the possession of the sender-Target.com And I was assured by UPS, that all target.com has to do is notify them via phone or electronically and they will not pick-up the merchandise.

So armed with this information I called back Target.com for the 15th time and explained what the UPS CSR told me, and once again I was told that it cannot be done!

Now I must wait until 11/20 to receive the TV. Then Return to Target.com and then wait 7-10 Business days to receive a refund. In a nutshell, I have to now wait 3-4 to receive a refund for an item that should have never left the warehouse. Target.com sucks!!

Now I'm going to miss the "special" sale on the LCD TV that I want.

Target Distribution 24 hour operation

As a team member of Target Distribution I can confirm that I work the weekend shift. Sat-Sun-Mon 6am to 6pm. 12 hour Shift. The night shift works from 6pm-6am. The distributiion warehouse has a continual process. When a product is requested it is pulled, processed and sent to appropiate trailer for shipment. You would be amazed by the process. The distribution center for the southeast is located in SC. They service all the Florida stores. Perhaps your tv was loaded just in route via truck to the store of your area. Can not say but I know the distribution center moves in a fast pace.
There logo is Fast, Fun, Friendly. Some would beg the differ.

Are You SURE they're closed on weekends?

How do you know the warehouse was closed and the workers were off on weekends? The customer service agents may not be working, but in nearly all catalog/shipment type places, they do A LOT of their processing on weekends. They may not process new orders, but they sure do pack and ship on weekends.

Just curious...
