I paid Target in full in 2007 through a collection agency after it was charged off.  I have canceled checks showing this.

Since then I have been working diligently to clear up my credit.  In November 2009 I received a notification through Creditkeepers that there was derogatory info on my credit report.  Target had reported that they had charged off, as of that date, my account.  In actuality the account was charged off in 2007.

When I wrote to Target informing them of this they told me that I do not know how to read a credit report and that the information had been "verified."  I sent them my credit report and they apologized for not catching this the first time i wrote and they were removing the "entire record" from my credit file.

They did remove the information from my credit report but on May 8, 2010 I received  another notification from Credit Keepers stating that derogatory information was again placed on my credit report.  I pay all of my bills on time so I was wondering.

To my chagrin, it was Target again.  This time they are reporting it charged off as of May 8, 2010.  This is against my rights under the FCRA in that this reages the account.  In addition they are reporting "Closed due to inactivity" (untrue); "Amount Past Due is charge off amount."  There is nothing past due.  They are also reporting that it is in collections.

I have not yet heard from Target but I am tired of going through this and it is damaging my reputation as I now pay all of my bills on time.
