Taxmasters is the most dishonest group I have come in contact with.
During the initial consultation I was told you can trust us, after all Bill O'reilly recommends us.
While on that particular subject, Bill O'reilly was removed from their site within 2 days of the consultation. He never recommended them
I was made numerous promises and was swayed to trust them because Mr O'reilly is a known consumer advocate. When I realized he was no longer on their web site I became curious. So, I decided to research the company.
The BBB in Texas was the first place I went. Now, realistically, any decent size company is going to have complaints. Human nature, you can never please everyone. The problem with Taxmasters is that you can use that old saying, not everyone tells the same lie.
Most of their complaints are refund based. That is the problem I am facing with them .
Within 3 days of researching the company I realized I cannot trust them with such an important IRS resolution. If you find consistent signs of a  lack of integrity than you are probably going to regret having Taxmasters represent you.
They have proven that to me with their dishonesty while contacting them. I was told  to fax my request to end our business relationship. I faxed the letter and a letter revoking their power of attorney. I also sent the the same Overnight so I can have a copy of someone from Taxmasters signing for the documents.
This was done within  3  business days of the initial consultation, when they were paid.
I waited a week to hear from them and nothing. When I called Taxmasters I was given the old phone run around and ended up with a recorded message.
That is when I realized I was taken on a roller coaster ride and they had no intention of just simply refunding my money as a consumer that was not comfortable with them and wanted to go with another Tax resolution service.
A company that is honest and really represents your best interest should not have a problem with a refund when their were no services rendered.
They are taking advantage of my inability to deal with them face to face. I am in Nevada and do not have the opportunity to go to their office and rectify this situation.
I have filed a complaint with the credit card representative and am in the process of trying to rectify the situation. It becomes very difficult when you are dealing with a group that will act with no integrity. I have been lied to on numerous occasions during phone conversation with reps of the company. When Taxmasters realizes you are unsatisfied for whatever reason you are bounced around from one rep to another.

I highly recommend you take a good look at the complaints that are available on the internet and the BBB  before releasing any funds to Taxmasters.
