I cancelled my order at TaxReady on 12/6/01- the same day I ordered. I faxed the cancellation, they confirmed receipt of the fax, but Tax Ready has NOT not refunded my money. Since December they keep giving me excuses such as ... "...a compliance officer has to authorize the refund....all the compliance officers are at a meeting...the compliance officers are in the office but are not picking up the phone...I can connect you to a voicemail....Our computers are down and won't be up until 2/20..." I have had to wait very long (sometimes 30 minutes or more)....only to be given this lame excuse and to be disconnected or transferred to a voicemail. I left many messages which were unanswered. Finally on 1/16/02 Jeff Everheart (a compliance officer) called me and confirmed that my refund will be sent to me. On 2/12/02, I still had no refund. I contacted PaySystems.com of Montreal, Canada which is the merchant that was named on my credit card as the recipient of the $995 I sent Tax Ready. David of PaySystems told me no refund was processed by Tax Ready...but he would process the refund that day. I contacted my credit card company who asked me to get an authorization#. I emailed paysystems at
billing@paysystems.com and got an emailed response that the refund would be processed today. I called PaySystems back and spoke to David who told me they don't issue authorization #s and who confirmed that the refund was processed on 2/11. I asked how I could track it. He said there is no way to do it. I need to wait 30 days and if I don't get the refund I should call again.
I told him I got an email from billing@paysystems.com saying the refund would be processed today, 2/18. David said that email is wrong. I am very anxious since I have been misled over and over by TaxReady. I have filed a complaint at the office of the Attorney General and will take every action possible to get justice.

I called TaxReady today and spoke to a James of Customer Service. I was asking to speak to Jeff Everheart. He asked if Jeff was expecting my call. I said no, but I wanted to follow up on the refund he promised me on 1/16...which has not been processed by Tax Ready. James told me their computers are down until Wednesday, 2/20 and I had to call back at that time. I explained my frustration since I have been given the runaround since December and I was getting agitated...but he wouldn't help further and closed the phone on me.

Tax Ready is under receivership...and is being investigated by the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.

We must unite!!! Please email me so we can,as a group, take action. The Attorney General's office is very prompt about acknowledging emailed complaints and faxed complaints to them. I have spoken to them about Tax Ready and they are very responsive to protecting consumers. The Atty Gen's email is:BCPINFO@ag.state.nv.us. You can also check the Federal Trade Commission...see www.ftc.gov.
