I signed up with Tax Ready on August 3, 2001. Their guarentee was to do my taxes for two years in which I would receive six coaching sessions throughout the year. The coaching sessions are an attempt for them to find deductions so you can save money towards paying taxes. Additionally, they stated they would analyze my calender year 2000 taxes and guaranteed they could find $3,000.00 in deductions. If they found the deductions that would pay for the cost of their services. If they couldn't find the deductions, they agreed to a full refund.

You have up to 30 days to cancel to get a full refund.

We haven't been impressed with them at all. They are not organized and have numerous people trying to talk to you. No one in the company knows what the other department is doing. Each time you tell them I've already been talked to, they state that "well you were on my calling sheet today". Very unorganized and I believe some of their advice in not in accordance with IRS regulations.

Their main scheme is for you to purchase a business from them for $10,000.00. It relates to the American's Disability Act and website shopping. They state you can take deductions from having an office in your house and other deductions that relate to possessing a small business. When I asked the coach to mail and email proof of what he stated, he said he would but we never received it.

We wanted to cancel as per the guidelines stated to us over the phone on August 3, 2001. We have been stone-walled since cancelling on August 17, 2001! When I called to cancel, a Erin Crossland in customer services stated it was mandatory to send a fax or written confirmation to cancel. He said it would be five to seven business days before someone from Client Services would call. I received no call and eventually called back to reach a Jeff Everheart who agreed to a full refund.

The problem is that he said he can't write me a check or credit my credit card for my purchase on August 3, 2001. He can forward my paperwork through the Tax Ready maze and he stated it could take up to an additional four weeks to get my money back. That's absurd and unfair! They should be able to do it in a day or two. They ensured to charge the transaction on August 3, 2001 got posted to my credit card immediately but won't refund my $995.00 in a timely manner.

I saw a related article on this website so I hope you can get this company of their butt and stop taking advantage of consumers.

I wish I never gave in to the pressure sales presentation that Dan Goodman gave me on August 3, 2001.

Pissed off and taken advantage of.

John

Rebuttal:
John,

I'm pleased this company took a credit card payment from you. So many of them have stopped because of consumers wising up and getting charge backs.

They are stalling you to beat out your 60-day chargeback deadline with your credit card company. You need to file a fraud chargeback for the full amount immediately. Don't listen to their excuses and promises--it's just a ruse. They may also be stalling for time in order to disappear.
Once they change accounts and names your credit card company can't charge them back.

Don't call to tell them you intend to file a fraud claim with your credit card company, just do it.

Good Luck
The Fraud Chick
