I was emailed an ad by Taylor Kia about specials at its sister Hyundai dealership. Taylor Hyundai advertised a new 2010 Hyundai Sonata for 40% off the list price of $19,520, so a final price of $11,712 plus tax, title and license fees. The stock number was H20020 with at least three in stock. I called at 3:18pm and spoke to a salesperson. They had not sold a car yet that day, so they had at least three. I said I would buy one and leave a deposit on the car and either could have my parents go there and finish the transaction tomorrow or finish the transaction a week from Saturday when I am back in town. I would sign any necessary paper work and fax it back. They then checked to see if it was in stock and it was, so I said that I would buy it. They then got the county I would register the car in to get a final price. When they came back with a price, they said that I had to buy an eco protection package (or some type of protection package) for $1550 if I wanted the car. When I refused, they offered it for $1350. I said I did not want to buy that package and only wanted to buy the advertised car. Chad, the manager refused to sell the car without the package and would not sell me just the car as it was advertised.
