I have been RIPPED-OFF by Val Taylor of TAYLOR SHOOTING SUPPLY located in Junction City Kansas on an rifle he listed for sale with GUN BROKER.COM.
I have purchased several nice and interesting pieces from individuals on GUN BROKER.com in the past and the vast majority of sellers are very reputable. However, I had the misfortune of dealing with Val Taylor of TAYLORS SHOOTING SUPPLY in Junction City Kansas, and got royally ripped off.
GUN BROKER.COM is a nicely done online site that allows buyers and sellers of various types of firearm and supplies to browse, shop and sell. I have bought several pieces through this site with great success,,,until now that is.
TAYLOR SHOOTING SUPPLY of Junction City Kansas listed a Collectors Grade "MINT, UNFIRED, PERFECT CONDITION, RARE AND BEAUTIFUL" Winchester lever action rifle for sale along with a photo of the rifle. I emailed him and asked detailed questions on the condition of the rifle, any -scratches, rust, dings, dents or anything to detract from the "MINT" condition that he had stated in the advertisement, and if he had any additional pictures of the rifle. He responded saying that the rifle was "BEAUTIFUL, in PERFECT MINT CONDITION with NO IMPERFECTIONS." This was infact a lie.
I purchased the rifle and it was sent to my local licensed FFL dealer and gun smith as required by ATF. As soon as my gun smith opened the box he said "WOW when did you start buying this type of garbage?"
The rifle had severe rust and corrosion that had completely eaten through the finish and into the metal in several dime-size places. The stock had been removed and the screws heads were striped and rusted. The safety lever was completely gone and a hole was left in the rifle were the safety lever should have been.
I immediately sent an email with photos to Val Taylor of TAYLOR SHOOTING SUPPLY in Junction City Kansas and advised him that I was not satisfied with the condition of the rifle as it was not as described or expected. He told me to just take it up with UPS so he would not have to accept the return. He wanted me to tell UPS that during shipping UPS corroded the rifle. First of all the rifle was shipped in a cloth rifle sock then placed inside a hard rifle case that was then packed in a cardboard box for transit. This is what I required for shipping. I was not about to commit insurance fraud for anyone.
VAL TAYLOR of TAYLOR SHOOTING SUPPLY in Junction City Kansas is not a trust worthy individual. He defrauded me on this transaction and refused to refund the purchase price. This person should not be allowed to conduct business of any kind.

Val, you are correct that fraud is a crime. However you are the person who perpetrated the fraud. I was the customer you bozo. Everything I said in the complaint is true and factual as you well know. #1) You listed a rifle on GunBroker as New, Perfect, Collectors grade condition. #2) You guaranteed me that it would be as described or I could get a refund of the purchase price. #3) You wrote me stating that there was no rust or corrosion ANYWHERE on the rifle. #4) I paid you for the rifle. #5) The rifle arrived with many years of rust, corrosion, and pitting. It had dings in the wood stock and the safety lever had been removed and there was only a hole where it should be.
#6) I wrote you immediately and sent you pictures of the rust, pitting, corrosion, and missing pieces and asked you for a refund. #7) You refused to honor your commitment and instead said to "take it up with UPS as they must have corroded it in the 3 day shipping time". I guess UPS must have taken the rifle apart, removed the missing lever safety and then put it back together too huh? Val, you are a CROOK and a FRAUD.

I hope all who read this and may intend to do business with Val Taylor of Taylor Shooting Supply in Juction City Kansas....Will take a moment to look over the MSN site and decide for themselves.
#8) Then I posted the web site in your feedback on GunBroker so everyone could see just what a LIAR you are.
#9) Val, you then wait 3 YEARS to file this rebuttal, 3 YEARS!!!!!.....No sir Val Taylor of Taylor Shooting Supply in Junction City Kansas,,, I'm not a criminal and in fact have been in Law Enforcement for over 15 years. I only wish your local DA would have accepted this case of internet fraud(theft by solicitation). You sir are CROOK and a FRAUD.

The gun was in great shape and he bought it for a good price. He tried to extort the money and the gun from me by threatening to report me and damage my business. Look at my web site on gunbroker I have an excellent rating. Jeff's intententions were indeed criminal. I offered to buy the gun back at the amount paid. He then realized he was caught. He has tried this with others. He is a crook. Follow the link on gunbroker for my feedback and you can find his feedback.
Attempted theft of a gun and internet extortion is a federal crime! It is no a civil matter

Jeff is the name of the complaintant. It was his intent to get me to refund the money he paid for a very nice rifle or he said he would file a report on me running my business. I suggest you look at my web sales on www.gunbroker.com I have a very good rating, an A+ rating as a matter of fact. Jeffi is a criminal and a liar. I beleive he was caught and arrested for the attempting a blackmail scam with another web vendor.
Sadly, Rippoff Reports did not follow up on this idiots actions or his other criminal activity. Well Jeff kiss your cell mate tonight. Criminal need loving to and I hope you are getting all the loving you need.
Those of you who intend to blackmail others with fear and intimidation by using sights and publications like this one. Just remeber you do have the right to remain silent, and anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
