so basically, from reading some other ripoff reports, these guys aren't even an agency??!!

this is nuts. so basically they're like a huge monster.com, just posting your resume but not actually getting you a job. so why charge so much.

I think the girl who wrote in earlier is right, somebody who's been burned by these guys MUST have web/html experience. we should try to create a site that is free or under 100 bucks to join (not this ridiculous 800 tct is charging??!!!!!) and given some of the bad publicity out there abuot them, it should be easy to get agencies and models to sign up and put these jerks outta business.

I too went to an open call (cattle call is more like it) and thought this was a real agency that would book me, not some big database of models.

oh well, lesson learned. sorry it cost so many 800 buckaroos to learn the same lesson.

IN regard to the comments on what this company really is........ It is true that they state their truths about not being an agency. It is true that they have the market on the 'concept' of web basing models, actors, athletes and musicians. It is a good idea.

Here is the trouble....
Beginnig of E-model to Options to the now TcTalent, has been a fluent evasive group of individuals who make quite a racket making much more money on the concept than is deserved. Allocation of money is the issue. Who is really in charge is an issue. Although it seems that they are 'cleaning up their act'there are still many things that go unsaid and are not addressed.

There are many individuals who do not ever hear truth when they see stars in the eyes looking back at them! An emotionally driven concept is the key to some of the best scams! So, of course there will be those who do not hear everything and then later whine about it. I say 'shame on you' However, shame on ALL of the major companies who derive any matter of success to playing people's emotions.

The main issues...... of course there are those who get legit work! However, if it were possible to gather 'real' statistics, we would truly be amazed at the number of people who are 'taken' on a daily basis.

There are some of us who were in the midst of information when the scam was well underway. Some of us who dug in the right places at the right time....Hence the consistant change of names and owners etc. However, the constant denominator is that these individuals who play at the top remain, even though they think they can not be found. Individuals who have a history of 'wrongfull' activity. There are Directors all of the World who are in one way or another linked to something gone wrong. Some Directors whose 'numbers' as far as sales go have not ever made enough money to warrant staying a Director. HHHMMMNNNN?????

Then there are those who seem to get in the mix of the suits and rearranging of contracts and such. THESE My Fellow readers are the issues!
So to all of you who have been scammed I am sorry!
To all of you who have gotten work, you are truly blessed. To all of us who sit in a passion for truth we must step forward each day, I say not just in a complaint mode!

Sometimes we need to walk in what we can and sometimes we just need to Pray! Sometimes it helps to do both.

To all of you who have a desire for the winning of the good guys, stay tuned to what is ahead. The day shall come when finishing last as the good guy is sweeter than anything we can imagine!

I have been registered with this company for 6 months or so. I have read all of these reports and I am little skeptical. I was not pressured into anything, they didnt demand my credit card or my checking account number.

They told me the price up front and offered me a payment plan if I needed it. They have never double billed me or took money they were not scheduled to take. I dont know where people are getting the figure 895 from I never ever heard that.

And they do have a book that they give the first day you show up. It tells you the prices of everything. And the contract simply states they do not guarantee ANYTHING THEY ARE NOT AN AGENCY. They are simply a data base that agents use to select models. I have gotten calls and emails from legitimate agencies. I think people are not reading the fine print and they are not understanding the contract. It is very simple. Nothing is guaranteed in the entertainment industry. I have not had a bad experience with these people and some of these posting appear to be a little exaggerated.

If the occurences are true its because of the people in selected offices. But that doesnt mean the whole company is bad. Thats why you should get names, phone numbers, receipts so when something goes wrong you are prepared. The agencies that I have got call backs from ARE LEGITIMATE!!

I have never got an email without a phone number or real contact info, so I cant bad mouth these people until I see otherwise. I dont think people thoroughly read before they sign all they see is a chance to live their dreams and they are quick to sign their name. They do give you 2-3 days to decide and they give you the book to thoroughly read.

The interview I got over the phone was very extensive and I didnt get the run aroung when I asked legitimate questions. And I have never been put on hold for longer than 1-2 minutes, perhaps they are cleaning up their act. But if an aspiring model is reading these postings they will give up on their dreams.

I think that people should not only just read but understand what they are reading before signing their name. TC Talent only guarantees exposure and nothing more, so you are right they are not a modeling agency

If you do not like what TCT is doing you should go out and start a company charging a lower price. That is free enterprise and it makes our economy competitive.

If you can provide a better service at a lower price you should get customers, but you will find the following:

1. You have to pay to create develop and host a website.

2. You will have to pay someone to contact these agencies. They will be skeptical and may even want a peice of the action. Some will quickly get on TV and call you a scam because they make money selling paper composites and they don't want the industry to go digital. Some will say you are a scam simply because they don't know what you do.

3. You have to find a way to get the word out. Either by advertising or by hiring scouts. If you decide to hire scouts and charge $100 for each model how much will you pay the scout?

4. You may choose to pay these scouts on a salary instead of commission, but you will find many may not work, after all you can'y watch them, so maybe they will sit home and collect a paycheck.

5. You have to pay rent, phones. legal bills, accountants, and all other business expenses. You may find it costs more than $100 per model to cover all those costs.

6. You have to hire sales people to explain the advantage this system to potential customers. Models will not enroll online (don't know why but they won't)

7. Of course if any of the scouts, salespeople, or employees you have hired and are paying do something wrong, misrepresent you will be held responsible and blamed for their mistakes.

8. Every november, February, and May investigative reporters seeking to boost their ratings for sweeps will do a quick report about your company. You may not even do anything wrong but perhaps a customer is unhappy or a scout you fired for lying wants to take a cheap shot at you. Or the story may just say that agencies don't charge money so you must be a scam.

These are just 8 of hundreds of things you will have to deal with. But of you deal with all that and make the business succesful you should be rewarded....of course someone may go online and post that $100 is terrible and maybe they should charge $50. If they do feel free to use this letter.
