TCA Fullfillment denied my rebate claiming that I didn't enclose the original UPC and manual cover page as required. They were processing the $10 rebate for Xelerate Software's Surf Anonymous.

Claude, in a phone call to TCA Fulfillment answered, You were told to make copies. My rebate form was printed out by the CompUSA store register and it had no prevision requiring that the customer retain copies of the UPC and cover page. If I did have copies my rebate could still be denied with the circular argument, You were told to send the originals. TCA refused to accept an original Xelerate disk as proof of purchase.

Next I sent the original disk to Xelerate Software (S/N 0049-000-154-141-089) at their street address of 102 Pennock Place in Media, PA. I nicely explained the situation and asked that they authorize TCA to send my rebate. A copy of my cover leter was also sent to Lynn Giordano of TCA. Xelerate did indeed receive the disk shown by UPS 2nd Day Air tracking # 1ZF5T2380297135831.

Later that week I called Xelerate, they said they don't accept anything without an RGA number. I politely explained that I was not asking for a refund, just their authorization to TCA to send my $10 rebate. They hung up.

XELERATE Software and CompUSA advertise this and other software at an "after rebate" price. Without the rebate it's a ripoff because the effective price is higher than advertised.
