I recently was denied a Regulation E Dispute. I waited ten long business days to be informed, by the bank I bank with, that its the merchants word over mine. I pretty much had the feeling this was going to happen, because when I gave it full thought, its a win win for both Playstation & TCF Bank.

A Supervisor (@ Playstation) instructed a Representative to credit my card back, because he said he couldnt understand why my card was charged that way anyway. (the "CONFIRM PURCHASE" button had not been pressed in the Playstation Store). But, she somehow put it in the PSN Wallet instead of my card. So now, I have $99.99 in the wallet thats not doing me any good & I cant get my own bank to give me a provisional credit!

I cannot wait to leave TCF Bank this week, because I refuse to bank with a bank that cannot fight for me when I need them to!! Especially for something as minor as this!!!

But, I have learned two valuable lessons in this situation. I will check with the next bank's policies, such a incident like this ever happens with another merchant & Always Always DELETE my card information in the Playstation Store Each & Everytime you make a purchase!

Why am I confused?

Well first you all but admit that Sony screwed up, yet you are still willing to do business with them.

You failed to explain in any detail how exactly the bank denying your claim was a "win" for the bank.

Oh and the biggest thing I am now confused about.  What is the model number of your Crystal Ball that can predict that with this exact set of circumstances at this exact time Chase would have seen it your way and reversed the charges?

While we are on the subject of Chase.  This sounds like it is just a case of "The Grass is always Greener".  How do I know.  Well unless you just love to deal with the hassle of changing banks.  I can guarantee that you didn't just wake up one morning and say "You know, I love Chase as a bank and they are the best bank in the world. But you know what just for the heck of it I want to change banks".  Nope..there was something that caused you to go to another bank.  Now, was it something as "small" as this or bigger..only you know the answer.

CONFUSED?? What are you so confused about??? I totally agree with you & yes it is on Playstation! Thats why I wouldnt have dare left them out of this situation! I was told it would be refunded & it wasnt the correct way. So, that being said, if that happens, then yes I want my bank to handle it for me!!

And Yes, CHASE would've handled it different! Thats why Im going back & VERY SORRY I EVER LEFT!!!!

If you had a supervisor at Playstation say that your card was charged incorrectly and they credited it back to the wrong place, why doesn't Playstation fix their mistake?  Seems like more of a problem with Sony than with the bank.

But even with that, it appears you have a $99 credit with them and based on the "lesson" you say you learned you are still going to purchase items from them.  So how exactly are you out any money?

But that not withstanding.  You are also complaining about them not giving you a provisional credit.  What good would that have done you?  When your dispute was denied the provisional credit would have been reversed..hence the word "provisional".

Although I would really love to hear how this is a "win" for the bank?  As near as I can figure..they don't have the money in their bank..it is at Playstation.  They have spent at least a few hours in labor investigating this and handling you dealing with them so they have "lost" money there.  Then in the end because they didn't "see it your way" you are going to leave them.  So please tell us again how it is a win for the bank?

Oh and FYI...there is NO guarantee that any other bank would have handled this any differently.
