TCI/Horizon Travel purchased vacation club membership during a very high pressure seminar. I tried to cancel the next day and couldn't. these guys know exactly where they can get away with these scams. Arlington Texas
I too purchased a vacation club membership from TCI/Horizon during a very high pressure "seminar". I tried to cancel the next day and couldn't. I called the Attorney General and a couple of attorneys in San Antonio and was told that the 3 day rescind rights don't apply in Texas unless the sale is over the phone; obviously these guys know exactly where they can get away with these scams. I also tried to cancel the credit card transaction; no luck there either.
The free vacation for attending the seminar was also a nightmare. They consistantly let the requested dates go by. I finally told them I would go on any date so that they wouldn't have an "out". I believe at that point they knew I was on to their game and they booked the trip. It turned out to be the most awful hotel in Cancun with no air conditioning and that was an upgrade (extra charges)! When I emailed the agent upon my retun she never bothered to respond.
It is unconscionable that these Better Business Bureaus and Attorney Generals know about this and are taking no action!
