After doing quite a bit of research, I was very confident in the fact that I wanted to try Shakeology as a supplement to my workout routine. As if reading my mind, I had a ‘friend’ suddenly ask me if I had considered trying it. She said her Mom was a coach and could get me the ‘hook up’ on it. I took that as a sign and told her I wanted more information. From there, I was very quickly thrown into a million and one Facebook groups, signed up for emails and then very firmly pushed into signing up as a coach. My friend, who had previously known very little about Shakeology, was suddenly a coach and had a googled answer for every question I found myself asking. I was very leery of everything and her sudden ‘used car salesman’ attitude. It was like I had gone from a friend to a source of income for her. But, I was an idiot and really wanted to get my hands on some Shakeology.

I talked with my husband and decided to take the plunge. I thought I was just signing up for a Shakeology subscription, when in reality I was being used. My ‘friend’ took my information and signed me up as a coach under her.Telling me that I would thank her later and then throwing my name into a million and one additional Facebook groups about making money and how to successfully push products on people. I kept telling her that I wasn’t interested in that, but she said it was just so I could get a discount on everything I ordered. When my first order came, there were all sorts of problems; it didn’t come to the right address, my card was charged for the wrong amount, and more things were in the box than I had ordered.

After everything was sorted out, it came out that my ‘friend’ ordered me a ‘Challenge Pack’ instead of just the Shakeology. She said she could sell the rest of the pack and make me some money off of it. She failed to mention that I was charged an additional $50 for the challenge pack I didn’t want. Then, she met up with me and got the workout program off of me, saying she would get the money for it and bring it by my house. (that was a lie) A few weeks passed, and while I was very upset about how I had been used, I was super happy about the fact that I had lost 8 pounds.

Then…I found out I was pregnant. I immediately stopped taking my Shakeology after speaking with my doctor and started doing yoga instead of the Beach Body workouts I had purchased. All the while, my coach and ‘friend’ kept telling me to ignore my doctors advice and keep up with the Shakeology. Of course, I didn’t listen and followed my doctors orders. After all, she spent years in medical school and my ‘friend’ had no education whatsoever. I asked her to suspend / cancel my Shakeology subscription until after I had the baby. I was very happy with the results I was having and wanted to continue again when the time was right.

Of course, it wasn’t that simple. She didn’t cancel my subscription and I was charged for it the next month. Again, it was sent to the wrong address and then arrived weeks later than it should have. I informed her that I did not want it and I was going to send it back. She told me not to and said she would buy it from me instead. The day it was finally delivered, I wasn’t home and she took it upon herself to go by my house and take it off the porch. After that, I was pretty much done with her. I knew I had been nothing but a meal ticket for her and she had pretty much used every opportunity presented to take advantage of me.

When she didn’t pay me as promised, I stopped answering her phone calls and cancelled my debit card so I could no longer be charged. That was five months ago. Until recently, I had not even thought of it. Last weekend, I received an email thanking me for my recent contact with Beach Body and asking me to fill out a survey. I instantly thought, what the heck? I clicked on the link it sent me and of course, my question was instantly answered. All of my information popped up, but the phone number listed was not mine, it was my 'coaches'. I had never even considered the possibility that she would be fraudulently using my information.

I immediately called Beach Body to inform them that my account had been fraudulently accessed and demanded to know what the call placed to them had been about. The girl I spoke with was very vague and seemed to have little to no information available. She then escalated it and said I would hear from the corporate office in a few days. This REALLY AGGRAVATED ME. I’m worried about my personal information being compromised and the most they could do was put me on a list to call back next week? After their blasé attitude, I didn’t stop there, I also used the online member system from Beach Body to send a message to my former coach. I demanded that she immediately stop using my information and informed her that I had reported her to Beach Body. She used this as an opportunity to personally attack me, call me a liar and then threaten me with her fictional attorney. As of today, I have contacted Team Beach Body twice and have received no answers.

“Team Beach Body” is in no way, shape or form interested in monitoring their coaches to ensure they maintain ethical business practices and could care less that someone representing their company is taking advantage of their customers and using said customers personal information fraudulently.

(Also, I feel that I should state that I initially placed all orders directly thru my coach. In the beginning, I was not even aware that I could sign up for an online account. Which, is why I initially did not question it when she had me fill out a paper form to order Shakeology or when she said she would 'handle' any issue I had.)

I don't have the patience to explain this to someone too ignorant to read or see that everyone's experience isn't the same. I really feel for you. Not an adult? Last time I checked I was married. Perhaps you missed that key detail in my statement.

I ordered the product as it was presented to me, not that I owe you anymore of an explanation. Beachbody has made a major mistake by letting just anyone represent their company and their product. A fact proven by the scammer I signed up under and yourself.

Just a a tip to you, if you keep sitting on the couch gorging on potato chips, you'll never lose the weight honey.

I'm confused - why didn't you do your own ordering or cancellation??  Why would you give your card number to a person, or put the burden on another individual to make transactions for you or make calls to cancel subscriptions for you?

If you didn't have access to your own phone or internet (like if you were deployed for example) that would make more sense, but I don't get it...Unfortunately there are scammers everywhere; I have used Shakeology and other Beachbody workouts in the past and never had any issues cancelling or ordering.  One time an order got lost and so they had to reship a new one to me -- so it took FOREVER to finally get there -- but overall, not a big deal, stuff happens.  Heck I've had my own mail get lost before so it's not like it was anybody's fault (besides the post office haha).  But then again, I was a legal adult handling my own affairs so there was no issue with someone else ordering or cancelling on my behalf.
