I recently moved to Alaska. I called TEAM USA and scheduled my move. I received a call from the Ops Manager, Patrick, to say that the outsourced company, Worldwide Movers, will be at my apt. on X day to pick up my vehicle and household belongings. He said he needed payment of $1500.00 today in order to make this happen at the quote he provided to me ($9000.00 total).

I then received a call from Worldwide Moving two days prior to my move to say they have hired a company that works on Saturdays (they evidently don't work Sat) to move my stuff, however my truck would have to be towed and stored until they got to it. W/ the hectic time of moving, not too much thought entered my mind.

The third outsourced company did move my stuff on Saturday - the truck was never moved, and I was in Alaska before I found this out. I tried to call TEAM USA -AND- approximately 30-40 times throughout last week ------ left messages on everyone's phone and sent E-mail after E-mail requested, then demanding a call from anyone. Last Friday, I received an invoice by E-mail from Loyra (WorldWide) for a total cost of $20,000.00 and said they misjudged my quote (increase of $11,000).

I tried to call numerous times, however both companies would not respond to voice mail or E-mail. I sent an E-mail finally at the end of the day saying CANCEL THIS MOVE. I had no idea where my belongings were. I then received a call from the 3rd outsourced company demanding payment - I said they needed to call Worldwide and Team USA.

Right now, I am in a hotel in Alaska with my truck in the same spot I left it 2 weeks ago, my belongings are tied up in 3rd company's storage w/ 25.00/day storage fee and won't release my stuff until they receive $1700, and TEAM USA has my $1500.00 deposit............................nightmare

THIS IS A FIASCO - the most miserable experience I have ever had with what I thought was a legitimate company and business. I have no idea what to do except go the legal route.....great......I like sitting on the floor for 6 months until I get my couch back.

Class Action Law Suit

#4Consumer Comment

Mon, March 05, 2007

To all of the people who were ripped off by Team USA Movers. I am still fighting with them over a $600.00 deposit that the took from me in Oct 2006. I know that the amount of money that they took from me is no where near as much as some of the other people who submitted a report here, but there has got to be something that can be done to stop this company and shut them down for good. This is America, and we all work too d**n hard for what little bit of money that we do make, and it should be against the law for companies to be allowed to operate a business in this country like this and continue to get away with it.

If there is anyone out there who knows how to initiate a class action law suit against them, and to rally all of the people here who has reported being ripped of by this company so that we can come together as 1 and give them a taste of their own medicine, please contact me at (((redacted))). Thank you.

update to clear WorldWide Movers - TEAM USA issue is outstanding

#4Author of original report

Mon, July 19, 2004

just an update - I've recently spoken with WorldWide Movers who have clarified the situation. WorldWide Movers are only an outsourced company that doesn't have involvement in this matter. Team USA movers is the scamming company, not WorldWide. From my recent experience during the past week, WorldWide Movers have shown good customer service and provided me the information I need. Thanks WorldWide....

On the other hand, Team USA has decided to keep my deposit and not refund it to me. In order to retrieve my belongings, I've shelled out over 3000.00 just to start from square one. Just to be clear, WorldWide doesn't have any of my money or belongings, and has maintained a professional approach in working with me to get my funds back from Team USA.... thanks WorldWide.

Who is the third company that actually has your load? Do you know their name, address, phone number, etc.?
