Tech Squads Person I talked with: Rao posing as Apple/Mac security scam Otisville, NY 10903

While downloading an app I received an urgent warning from apple, with their logo/letterhead, that I had viruses and my computer was compromised. They proceeded to work on my computer and sold me lifetime protection for $550. They have my credit card, and all the info on my computer like serial #, passwords, etc. because I allowed them in thinking they were apple/mac.

By the time I reached my own tech person who told me this was a scam it was evening and too late. I tried to stop the charge on my Visa card and was told I could only cancel the card or dispute that one charge. I will dispute the charge because Techsquads misrepresented themselves and sold me something I did not request or want.

The man I spoke to, Rao, called the following day. Caller ID said private caller.  I told him to cancel the protection, that I would not pay because he misrepresented himself as Mac. He said the work was already done and had to be paid for. I hung up on him. The charge has yet to appear on my statement.
