I purchased an Acer Atheros Laptop Computer from this company, TECHGEARNOW, and on the phone they confirmed multiple times that this was a brand new unit directly from the manufacturer, ACER. It arrived in what looked like an Acer Manufacturers box but with no warranty paperwork or other paperwork at all, no instructions, no safety notice, nothing at all. I called them and they said that is how Acer sends stuff out...yeah right.

After receiving it, the battery wouldn't hold a charge for more than 5 minutes. I called the company, who told me to contact ACER warranty division. I did so and ACER told me that according to their records, the serial # on the unit was previously registered and that this unit must therefore be a "Refurbished or Rebuilt" unit, and that there is no manufacturer's warranty on it.

I called TECHGEARNOW and they stated this isn't so, but because I was having so much trouble with Acer, they would replace the battery for me if I sent it back to them directly. I'm doing so now and we will see if they honor thier word. I certainly hope so.

Regardless, I have a 'new' computer that costs about $325.00, with no warranty and it appears the person, "STEVEN" at Techgearnow has been less than honest about the unit being brand new. Otherwise, they have been very polite, responsive and courteous. I just hope they keep their work and send a good/functioning battery and that I don't have any further problems with the laptop because their return policy is 14 days and it is now past that time and there is no warranty on the computer.
