Complaint Review: Tecspot Bengals

Tecspot Bengals Teresa Caudell Bad business practice bully breeder spreads malicious lies Pleasantville, Ohio

Teresa Caudell from Tecspot Bengals was very agreeable and nice in her emails to me.  i am a new bengal breeder and I was happy that she would consider selling me a kitten.  I placed a $500 deposit and was told that I would have until the kitten was five weeks old to decide if she was right...I also understood that there were no refunds.  The female kitten I chose was too young to evaluate properly.  So at the five week mark I asked Teresa to hold my deposit for a different kitten.  Teresa refused and said she was keeping my deposit.  I reminded her of her promises in emails but she still refused.  I pleaded with her in emails and told her to keep my deposit for a year until another litter.  She dug her heels in...she was keeping the deposit.  I called my credit card company and reversed the charges - this is not what I wanted to do, but Teresa left me little choice.  Later Teresa Caudell went on Facebook and specifically used my name to alert everyone that I was a crook.  For anyone who is interested I will send you all emails regarding this transaction.  Beware when dealing with Teresa Caudell from Tecspots.  She is a bully, and unethical.  And if you have any questions i would be happy to speak with you at (((REDACTED))).

Teresa,
I like her.  She will be very happy over here in Milwaukee.  When do I owe you the other $2000, and also should I drive in to pick her up when she's ready or how much to ship her?

Once again, thank you for taking a chance on me!

Jim

Parents both tested HCM neg?
Parents both tested PK Def you already told me this.

Will the kitten come microchipped?
Vet records?
Tica registered?  Or do I do that?

I get my first kitten from Destiny Bengals in Florida this Saturday.  And then I fly to Canada for the male.  Yours is the final piece of the puzzle.

Jim

As for the other posting on the Internet about me they are all done by one person, Linda Johnson of Cazpurr Bengals, and Linda Johnson unsing the alias, Heather Hill.  I sued her for her wrong doings with me and the dishonest person that Linda Jonshson is posted malicious slander all over the Internet about me.  I won the court case against her!!

Now I have James Lubbad posting malicious slander about me becasue he backed out on the purchase of the kitten he chose and wanted, his e-mail clearly state this and was fully aware of the terms of the non-refundable deposit.

James Lubbad e-mails ,I know what I want!!!

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, November 16, 2012

Just one more e-mail that needs to be seen to show that James Lubbad was NOT asking his mentors for advice when he contacted me to purchase a kitten.  He clearly states, "but I know what I want from searching".

I am new to this Teresa.  I just know what is important to me not for showing or meeting the breed standard.  I am willing to pay more for the better kitten that fits my ideal.  I understand your position on barring as it related to breeding or passing on the barring to future generations.  I know you may just get tired of my questions or feel like I am stringing this thing along, but I know what I want from searching.  I am attaching a picture of the male I am buying, - he is in the fuzzies as well.  8 weeks.  I know that it might be easier to deal with a more experienced breeder, but I think you are doing great things with the breed and I want to be a part of that.

How do you think this boy would do with your girl?

Double down

#9Author of original report

Fri, November 16, 2012

Teresa chooses to double down on her misinformation campaign.  Now apparently Teresa says that only certain kittens have a five week evaluation period...too bad she never let me know that important piece of information.  The 5 week evaluation period is perhaps whatever Teresa decides at that moment.  It is safe to say I will never be doing business with this breeder, it is sad because she produces nice bengals.

Teresa's claim that Paypal found in her favor is also inaccurate...Paypal found that there are absolutely no guarantees related to live animals.  Paypal denied my chargeback because live animals were involved.  It is silly for Teresa to keep claiming that stealing my money was somehow the right thing to do...and Paypal backed her - simply not true...Paypal had no recourse since the $500 was for a live animal.  Look it up.

I think i have said all that I can say regarding this very dark chapter in my bengal breeding experience.  I now will only deal with breeders who are honest and predictable.  I will deal with breeders who want their customers to be happy: not breeders who force people to take a kitten that they are unsure about.  The summary is this: when Teresa's plan to steal my $500 deposit was thwarted by my credit card chargeback - she took to Facebook to bully me and ruin my reputation with other breeders.  Shame on you Teresa Caudell.  As a breeder I will never keep a person's money on a five week old undeveloped kitten, and then take to the internet to bash that person.

I will repeat that I never, ever, ever asked for a refund.  I asked to be allowed to choose another kitten in the future.  That is the most maddening thing about this.  I didn't even want my money back until Teresa said she was keeping my money if I did not take that kitten.  Shame, shame.  You will hear no more from me on this subject, i am moving on.

James Lubbad refuses to give the full information in this matter.

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, November 15, 2012

James Lubbad proves his dishonesty with his very own postings by deliberately leaving out the full e-mails as to the kitten that was being disscused.  The "Reba Girl #2" is the kitten that was disscused and that he was offered the evaluation time on. This is NOT the kitten he placed a deposit on.  Please see the e-mails below.

This is James e-mail to me:
Sent: Friday, August 24, 2012 1:15 PM
Subject: Re: Reba Girl #2

Perhaps I could place a deposit and then if rib bars appear I could choose another?
I have already sent payment for another female from a premiere breeder as well. I know I need one more female at least. And that is why I am looking at your girl. You I consider a premier breeder.

My response e-mail:
Sent: Friday, August 24, 2012 1:35 PM
Subject: Re: Reba Girl #2

Jim,
Yes, I do allow breeders to do that and I usually give them up to 5 weeks of age to make the decision if a deposit is placed.  If you choose to pass on the kitten then you may choose from my new litters as they are born.

James Lubbad's response e-mail:
Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2012 4:09 PM
Subject: Re: Reba Girl #2

Teresa
Thank you so much for emailing with me regarding the female kitten.  I am unable to make a decision on this kitten with the information I have.  I do appreciate your patience in dealing with my questions.  I hope that you would consider me for one of your best kittens in the future.

The above e-mails clearly show we were discussing ONLY the Reba Girl #2 and not any other kitten.  I clearly state that I usually give up to 5 weeks of age, this was NEVER offered to him for the Reba Girl #3 since he CHOSE her without any reservations a week later and said he wanted her because she did not have any rib bars.

James Lubbad made his decision on August 31, 2012 when he phoned me to say he wanted the Reba Girl #3 and sent the non-refundable payment to my Paypal account after the phone call.  He even states in his first post here that, "he CHOSE her".  He made his decision, then reneged on his commitment.

James Lubbad's simple change of mind on the Reba Girl #3 did NOT entitle him to the non-refundable deposit back.  The Reba Girl #3 was his kitten and he backed out on the purchase of her.

Then despite Paypal  finding in my favor TWICE and refusing to refund his non-refundable deposit, he  still went ahead and did a chargeback thru his credit card company.  If his mentors are telling him this is ethical for him to do then I recommend staying clear of them and especially this new breeder who doesn't know the first thing about being honest.  He is the one who was underhanded and acted out of  greed.

Teresa writes this in her rebuttalI can pove with e-mails that the 3 week old, Reba Girl #3 kitten that James Lubbad placed a deposit on was never offered up to a 5 week period to decide if he wanted her or not.  Here is the exact wording in Teresa's email to me Yes, I do allow breeders to do that and I usually give them up to 5 weeks of age to make the decision if a deposit is placed.  If you choose to pass on the kitten then you may choose from my new litters as they are born.

So sad to see a breeder create a public spectacle and try to burn a new breeder out of greed.  Ihave not even started yet, and this was one of my first experiences with a breeder.

Breeder Bully Tries to take advantage of a newbie

#9Author of original report

Mon, November 12, 2012

I have several quality bengal breeding mentors who keep me grounded.  They are extremely ethical and honest.  Dealing with Teresa has been the opposite: a terrible experience.  She is all about the money and her promises are hollow lies.  She wanted to force me to take a kitten into my breeding program that my mentors told me specifically not to get.  She also forces people to decide at the five week mark-when the kitten has not yet developed.  I never wanted any money back and Teresa knows that- Teresa's stunt about offering me a free kitten is a distraction which she hopes will bolster her case.  I am happy to send anyone who wants all emails relevant to this situation.  I think you can google Teresa Caudell or Tecspot complaints and find that I am not alone.  The last thing I want as a new breeder is an internet pissing contest - if I had known that Teresa was going to post my name on her Facebook page and accuse me of being dishonest I would have let her keep the $500.  Honestly a reputation is more important.

Proof that I am not unethical or a bully!!!

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sun, November 11, 2012

I have been breeding bengals for over 16 years now and I have never bullied anyone nor I have done anything unethical.  Please if anyone wants to contact me reguarding this matter you can find all my contact information on my website tecspotengals.

I can pove with e-mails that the 3 week old, Reba Girl #3 kitten that James Lubbad placed a deposit on was never offered up to a 5 week period to decide if he wanted her or not.  Reguardless that James Lubbad did not have up to 5 weeks to decide on the Reba Girl #3, I sent him pictures of the Reba Girl #3 at 5 weeks of age.  His e-mail response to the 5 week old pictures (verbatim), "I like her. She will be very happy over here in Milwaukee.  When do I owe you the other $2000, and also should I drive and pick her up when she's ready or how much to ship her".

The very next night James Lubbad sent an e-mail telling me that he did not want the kitten.  It is stated on my website and on my breeders contract, that James Lubbad was sent the link to that, "all deposits are non-refundable".  I told him if he was passing on the kitten then he would lose his deposit.

I never stated on FB that James Lubbad was a crook, I stated the facts in this matter and that he was not entitled to his deposit back.   PLUS I offered, if he could prove that he was entitled to the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit then I would give him a free female kitten.

So what does a man that is dishonest do and can NOT prove he was entitled to the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit???  Go to a website like this and slander me and my cattery.
