I am writing about Deltacom Telco communications.  My company signed a contract with them in '06 for a 3 year term.   Huge mistake.  Almost immediately,  I began receiving bills for far over the amount stated in the contract.  But, we waited our 3 years and then switched to ATT.  I then started getting calls from a collection agency demanding a full years worth of fees.  They claim the contract "auto renews" ,  but no where in the contract does it say anything about auto renewing.   This is a very bad company with extremely deceptive business practices.  I would stay away.

The local phone company that has a monopoly in the area of Arab Alabama is currently called Otelco. It used to be named Brindlee Mountain phone company. We were charged considerably higher rates than others who lived in Bell South, or AT&T. When we finally dumped them, (because we only used cell phones), our $100 deposit was gone. Even though we had the cancelled check, because the company changed from Brindlee Mountain to Otelco, I guess that gave them the right to steal the deposit money we had to front "in case we failed to pay our last bill". Additionally, Otelco is the terrible DSL Internet provider for this area. They were running a "back to school special" in August 2013. The first six months of high speed Internet for $9.99 per month, no contract, cancell anytime. Our first bill of Internet was almost $150, and after the "discount", almost $100! What a bargain!
