Today, 9 Jul 2014, I telephoned the Telebranks Customer Service number: 1-855-668-1655. To be connected to a real Customer Service representative and get out of voice mail routing, I pressed 0. I told the woman I spoke with, Nisa, that I had a Pocket Hose Ultra and was not calling about returning it, as I had purchased it at a local bricks and mortar store and had not kept the receipt. I told her I was calling because the hose sprung a leak and I wanted to find out if the Pocket Hose Ultra had anything in its make up that would prohibit me from putting the hose in Recycling.
She suggested I call the Pocket Hose Ultra Customer Service number directly and ask my question. She gave me the number: 1-855-235-2083. I thanked here and called the number. Interestingly enough, the electronic answer message thread was exactly the same as the Telebrands one. I pressed 0 again to connect to a real person.
Augustine, the Pocket Hose Ultra Customer Service Representative answered. I told him I had a Pocket Hose Ultra which I had purchased at a bricks and mortar store, not directly from the company, that it sprung a leak, that I no longer had the store receipt to return the hose for a refund, and only wanted to know if there was anything in the manufacture of the hose that prohibited me from putting it in Recycling. He went through his "script" on how I could fax them proof of purchase (copy of the store receipt) and they would replace it. I repeated that I had already told him I no longer had the store receipt and I did not want a replacement. I just wanted to know if I could put the damaged hose in Recycling.
When he started in his "scripted reply" again, I said, "Excuse me. I don't want to seem mean. I know you are on 'the front lines' and people are probably rude to you a lot. I just want to know if I can recycle the hose. You can't tell me that. You have been of no help. Goodbye."
Bottom line: I will be puting the hose in our Recycling bin for the recycling service pick up. I will never, ever even think of buying another Pocket Hose product.
For anyone reading this, please pass the word - Do Not Buy a Pocket Hose or Pocket Hose Ultra!
