Teledias Communications, Inc. Teledias signed me up for long distance without my authorization Reno Nevada

In the past months I received multiple calls from somebody claiming to be calling from "my phone company", stating that they called to notify me of a temporary phone service shutout. They would ask questions expecting me to answer "yes", such as: "Do you live in...(my home address)?" or: "Please write this number to reach us; do you have a pen?"

What they do - and I know it because TeleUno did this to us in the past- is make up a fake recording changing the questions and using those "yes" answers to create a conversation in which I "agree" to add their long distance plan.

In the past, my wife was scammed this way and when we called, after being charged spuriously by TeleUno, they played back to us such fake recording. Both these scams were perpetrated in Spanish.

In summary, Teledias signed me up for long distance without my authorization and I was charged $5.95. Because I suspected fraud, after those suspicious calls I placed a long distance freeze through my phone company, but they cought me anyway.

I was billed through USBI, so I called them and was transferred to Teledias; they "canceled" my account and told me I was getting a credited for the charge.
