Complaint Review: Teleport Communications America

Teleport Communications America I received a call stating that I could decrease my interest rates on my credit cards. He said he knew that I paid more than the minimum amount due. Then he asked the total amount of my credit card debt, how many cards made up that amount and the specific cards involved, Master Card, Visa etc. Then when he started asking me specifics, like the expiration date..I hung up. I was not about to give personal information to someone I do not know. Mullica Hill New Jersey

This company called me.  They stated that they would be able to reduce the interest rates on my credit cards.

First, he said that he could see that I paid more than the minimum amount due on my cards.  But then, started asking me questions:

1.  Which card has the biggest balance, Master Card, Visa etc.?

2.  What is my total debt and how many cards were used in the total?

3.  Then he asked me the expiration date of the first card.

It was at that point that I hung up.  I do not give my personal information out over the phone, especially if I do not know who I am talking to.  He never identified himself or what company he was calling from.

I would like to have this looked into.  The telephone that he called me from was belonged to Teleport Communications America located in Mullica Hill, NJ.
